yeah i actually liked getting some of that back to put into more drops it kept me playing and going. i did that inbetween the matchmaking … now what? sit their like im a potato or cabbage and do nothing twiddle my thumbs … lol. same with other people who would spin the crates too while it waits to find a lobby

definitely agree with all of you on this point. I do not recommend buying boxes at any current point in the game, bad loot, high cost, you will generally waste all your money opening boxes and waiting for a worthwhile item.
I tell you, my friend, that will not happen unless you open 1,000 boxes and it is no joke.
Recommendation for everyone: DO NOT OPEN MORE BOXES, DON’T SPEND MONEY ON THEM.

The problem is you are not playing the game for rewards, you are playing the game to acquire currency to spend on a loot box with a completely worthless Random Number Generator.
If the Mythic rewards came from doing things or having them linked to in game achievements, yeah then I’d consider that playing the game for rewards.
and the fact that with a good portion of the games played you don’t get enough to buy one loot box, the currency you got from duplicates made the fact you’d spend hours opening and rebuking in a sad attempt to get something that wasn’t a shader or an outfit you had unlocked at lvl 100… SMH @IllFonic

Yeah I don’t understand this change myself. It was literally my only method of getting more vertanium, hoping to roll the dice and get some from these boxes.
how is that exploiting it? it would return the veritanium for a dupe … the rng is so low its dogshit. i played the game properly and legit. inbetween the lobbies i would spin the crates till it found another. i didnt have an infinite amount to sit on … lol
This looks like MS gone wrong, they realized MS with game in such state released would be economic suicide so they put it for free for now, I expect them to be fully operational in few months if game survive.
Otherwise they could made that you gather exotic trophies and stuff for example by claiming FT spines and heads.
I just have to look at this message thread and see that many players if not all, have been playing this slot in hopes of getting something decent and we all agree on the same point. There is no benefit in opening boxes either before the patch or now.
Before at least you knew that by spending 2,000 credits you could earn 500-1000 credits more with much luck, that translates into 2,000 credits = 4 boxes.
500 credits = 1 box.
1000 credits = 2 boxes.
The benefit obtained was small but you had the possibility of investing money again, you could earn more or less but the system was more stable.
The system remains the same as in the beginning with the only alteration that now it will NEVER get benefits.

I started with 3 crates now I have 300k in money. It was a gamble fair and square even chances that you get something cool is close to 0. I opened 2000 crates I swear and got coyote and bobcat trophy only.
damn 2000 crates. man that rng. to put it blunt is fucking wank. what a load of shit. and so they trickle down the currency gained back. pftttt. yeah that was not a good move … lol.

In my case I think I have opened more than 5,000 boxes since the game’s release date and I can assure that I have only managed to get 2 yellow objects, less than 100 red, the rest were rare purple and simple purple and 90% rare blue.
again 90% of open loot was replicated

I said 2000. But I can’t really tell how many times I bought 50 crates and opened them between matches could be easily 5000 dunno. I have now over 300k in cash and maybe 30 unopened boxes. I’ll save it unless its reversed. If ever goes full MS I am going to sell whole acc. ;) Getting really pissed at them.
He would agree to reduce the profit obtained from the boxes or directly receive money instead of replicated, but in exchange for reducing the benefit of credits he would improve the loot.
An example:
Each box has 3 objects, you can get 1 of those objects 100% safe something you don’t have and the other two objects can be anything, money … instead of replicated.
Just offset the RNG and improve the loot rate.
Overwatch improved a lot in that regard.

I opened over 750-800 yesterday, not one Mythic item. Quite a few Reds but no duplicates except maybe one. Not buying into that it takes long enough just to open them on PS4 let alone get nothing for your effort.

Can you tell what level you have or how long you have been playing?
If you are a new player you will not get replicated but when you have been playing this for so long, level 60 or higher and buy boxes … you can see reality.
I’m level 100 been playing since Trial Weekend. Got all Pink unlocked, all Blue. The rarer pink I was mostly unlocked and Red I was just starting to unlock. Not spending anymore though cause it’s just a lost cause for me rn. I love the other patches they’ve made so far in theory for this update but I have yet to play since 1.06 was released.
