Well movies aren’t that “hard core”, alot of details never made it into the movies, but I also like to read Star Wars stories, from the new era (Skywalkers etc) and more from the old era (like 5000 years before Skywalkers) and some of the details (scenes etc) are quite brutal.
Like for example, Palpatine was very smart but he lived an ordinary life, if I remember it right, his parents were farmers and he looked at them as pathetic and weak beings, so at one point when he was old enough, he killed them because they were weak.
And when you think about it, that’s pretty fucked up. So details like that, you won’t see it in the Star Wars movie.

Yeah I love Star Wars, there’s alot of interesting stories that you can get only by reading them and they are much more complex and much more interesting than movies that we have.
I did watch Dragon Ball when I was a kid, anime, but I don’t know why, but I just didn’t like it. Animation was kinda weird looking for me, still is.
But on the other hand, I’ve seen every episode of Samurai Jack. Also seen every Predator and Alien movie.
Hell, when I was a kid, 8 or 9 years old, when Alien 4 came out in theaters, I begged my mom to take me there to see the movie. She did eventualy and I had a blast. Sometimes I miss those times, when movies were good and original and you actually had to go to see them.
These days it’s stream, torrent or whatever from your PC and that’s it, you don’t even have to go out of your room to see something new.
