So close, yet so far trophy is bugged

No, not exactly, the “so close yet so far” probably and specifically means when the team is about to exfil in those 30 seconds. Then you must get in and kill them.

When you kill all 4 FT, you should get “FT was eliminated” and the cut scene of the pred and skull. Instead you get “Prey escaped” and the cut scene of the choppa leaving. In the match summary you see all 4 FT are dead yet they escaped? That is the bug I believe is stopping this from being completed.

This trophy I think does not happen if the team manages to call for reinforcements. And I kind of get it why. The purpose of the trophy is to let them make the objective, stalk them and jump in last second.

As I said, constraints must exist for it. And probably do…
