Yeah I figure. I also get the appeal of wanting to release a big update as close to the 1 year anniversary as you can to reinvent the game.
I just don’t like it and think an early/mid month release, especially while the game is on sale, would do a lot more good for them.

I disagree. The only thing that would be good for them is releasing an ACTUAL content update. When that happens is irrelevant at this point.

Edit: Because they could release a shit update early or late and it will end the same way. The only thing that matters is good content. And I’m not going to hold my breath for that.

There’s a real nice “sweet spot” to hit a homerun served up on a platter you can get a big surge in the player base if this hits right

Despite the heat we give then, they’re not stupid and they do listen. I’m sure this will be a substantial update. May not check all the boxes we’ve been asking for but it’s definitely go big or go home time for illfonic and there’s no way they don’t know it.

Besides if it’s not…no sweat off my back, I got a full library and some new releases to look forward to. Another fact they’re aware of.

I think the update will have lone wolf mode, a new map and a new Predator

I seriously doubt it will be all that substantial based off what every subsequent update has brought to the table

Also if they’re really in it for the long haul they don’t want to dump all their content at once

Best case scenario we get Airstrip and HQ and Lone Wolf plus a new Predator

Naw you’ve got a rinse and repeat formula with all the data mining we’ve seen.
Drop new maps and a new game mode (Lone wolf or whatever 15 man game they have in mind) with Isabelle…next drop environments (they’ve hinted at snow maps in the PS blog) with Cleo, then we get another FT and Pred free…same pattern as last year with plenty of material to draw from.
