Some feedback on gameplay and balance after 5 years of playing PHG.

Just some simple bullet points on what I believe the game would benefit from to make it more enjoyable:

Fireteam

  • Leader specialisation should either give only other team mates the damage buff or reduce it back to 10%.

  • Tracker perk duration should be reduced by 3 seconds.

  • Double/triple knife-hit bug should be patched out.

  • Buff the useless shotguns.

  • Mines are very bad. Revamp them somehow. Make them have an area of effect or make them redeployable.

  • Quite a few perks are terrible. (Silent for example, for 4 points!; Pig in Shit is also too expensive)

  • How about the secondary mission drops an ammo-crate or a medipack? It could provide an actual incentive to do it.

Predator

  • I never understood why the Predator spends energy to use the heat vision. Make it so heat-vision does not require energy. Perhaps adjust cloak consumption accordingly.

  • Reduce the amount of smart-discs to 1 but make it indestructible.

  • Bring back the flashing eyes when changing vision. (Would be ok I think if heat vision does not require energy.)

  • The shield is really bad. Needs urgent help but not sure anybody cares about it anyway. Maybe make it a gear rather than a weapon.

  • Increase the amount of arrows for the bow.

  • Increase the amount of Healing Kits to 3. So Large Pouch perk is not such a necessity any more.

yeah, 1 by default and 3 with the Large pouch

It’s enough to make it without energy consumption and with sweeping cutting melee attacks, like in the movie.

honestly if they did ever decide to do anything really with the shield i would like this to be a baked in mechanic expand teh duration of the “Shield’s Aura” So that predator effectivly can create his own cover anywhere at anytime so long as he has energy. simaler to Reinhardt’s sheild from overwatch but Predator can shoot through it and FT cannot sure it only lasts like let’s say… 6 seconds. but in that six seconds FT either has to move or just take damage while they trade with the shield to sap some of pred’s energy.

It’s because it’s not natural vision for the Predator and comes from the masks. I do think the rate of energy consumption is ridiculous and should be very minimal and the same across all classes.

Wait what?? When did they do this?? I understand it was an issue because you could see it from a long distance so it needed to be toned down slightly but removing it completely is crazy!! It’s something from the 87 movie and something that was iconic about the Predator design…

I would also add that they should remove the ability to call the chopper until the last 5 mins. And that when it reaches the 5 minute mark the Fireteam get a location they must reach, and when the timer reaches 2 minutes left the chopper appears and then the ability to Exfil is available. Also, reduce the amount of A.I. that swarm the exfil location and scale it according to the number of players left. I’ve noticed the A.I. have had a health/toughness buff that borders on the ridiculous, reverse this.

I noticed this with Wolf when testing a build yesterday, although it displayed that it wasn’t consuming energy even when using shoulder caster it was actually using energy and the real amount of energy could be seen when activating the cloak so it’s a visual bug on the Wolf class, not sure about the others though. It really shouldn’t use as much as it does regardless, and it should be the same amount across all classes.

It’s a bug and they didn’t fix it.
It came when they ported the game to a newer Unreal Engine.
