You can check the timing of the inputs. If inputs are repeated with exactly the same time intervals, it’s clearly not a manual input. The same could be done by tracking combinations of inputs that are also patterned with the same time intervals between inputs.

And then you just dish out increasing punishments for violation; a warning, 24 hour ban, one month ban, Perma banned.

That would require some programming skills for a bot to recognize this. I don’t think Illfonic should be the ones to program that bot, get Sony to do it. Better yet, not sure who they partnered with for servers, but use their bot. I know battleye has pretty good anti-cheat, least they did last I checked.

right… except you can randomize the timing aside that ping itself will randomize it on its own.

For real, other than using invasive anti-cheat systems running on the client, is going to be really hard to establish the difference. And even then, a lot of these devices come with on-board memory and processing chips that allow to save everything on the device itself without relying on software, so even an invasive anti-cheat system will not be able to detect it.

Really, these things have been a thing for ages now, just like turbo controllers. And they’ll keep existing because people like to use them. You just have to deal with it.
