I think the issue might actually be that they don’t have the AVP license and thus can’t use them. The exception to this is seemingly the shuriken since it appeared in The Predator. So Scar, Chopper, Celtic, Wolf, and frankly anybody of that branding might be off limits unless something is used in the solo films. Scar’s helmet at best cameos in The Predator but lacks the marking. That might not be enough to warrant the inclusion.
Scar might’ve been worked on with the intention of being released but for one reason or another be it Disney might reboot and want a clean slate for AVP or the license was too costly (maybe both) we don’t know. This might even extend to the Scarface Predator because while merch may be done of him (Neca also holds the AVP license) the game has a complicated legal issue preventing re-release and things might get screwy if they get into two legal battles over it and I doubt Illfonic want another lawsuit.
Regardless the first two films do have representatives and if The Predator is a hard sell then after Predators you don’t have movie content to draw from. They’re gonna have to do some OC stuff and most solo comics just use Jungle or City Hunter bodies anyways. This extends to the Lost Tribe as most of them just use City Hunter bodies which they already sell through the class and some of them even lack things like wrsistblades, computers, or both gauntlets and or plasmacasters making them hard to build for. Keep in mind that Neca’s re-releases haven’t all come out yet and not everyone knows what they’re doing. They only got Alpha done because they happened to be in the right spot to talk to them.

Thank god someone made this post… i was about to do it but i figured i dont play the game anymore so why should i get shit on something that makes perfect sense but does not to delusional people who just want content in a game that is wrong from start.

So far its the coolest looking dlc one.
To anyone not playing this game, if you put this DLC character in front of them (with mask on) and asked them what it was, they wouldn’t say “Ahh, that’s a Predator”.
The aesthetic of this Space Viking and the other history cosplay DLC is so far removed from the actual character it’s meant to be based on that it might as well be some sort of generic mythical monster you see pop up in expansion packs for Assassin’s Creed.

Oh I don’t blame people for using her - the stats seem great (like I said earlier, these DLCs look like they’re becoming a covert ‘pay to win’ mechanic). If they just give me Wolf with good stats, his whip (and maybe the mines) then I’d never bother mentioning these ridiculous history themed characters. I’m just annoyed that they decided to give us these before the likes of Wolf, Mr Black etc. My worry is that there is some sort of ‘rights’ issue, as someone else above mentioned, and we won’t be getting any AVP Preds. If that’s the case I wish Illfonic would just say that, instead of keeping us guessing.

Dont get me wrong the cosplay preds are a cash grab I would not say they are pay-to-win.
She is super melee focused so any good parry team is going to win. Other than that yes I would love some real preds up in here.

Scarface might be under the AVP license since Concrete Jungle wasn’t a solo outing. I’d like to be wrong though. The game was under the solo branding but it might be linked to it due to the promotion of the AVP movie the year prior.
It is labeled Predator, but with the two levels fighting xenos, and the talk about Antarctica and weyland but it into AVP territory.
I see your point, but before saying anything I just want to say as a professional 3D artist, that the art team of this game has done an absolutely stellar job with everything!
Their attention to detail makes it obvious there was a lot of love put in this game!
Just the fact that they employed perhaps the best “likeness 3D artist” to model Arnie’s young version says it all!
Having said that, I always felt that the armors the team designed lack the feeling that the original armors from the movies had. They follow what we today consider to look “futuristic” and not how the designers of the 80’s/90’s movies envisioned as alien/futuristic.
I dont mind historically themed armors, in fact i think its a cool concept, but yeah I would like to see traditional Predator outfits closer to the ones of the original movies.
If they stay with the Assassin’s Creed themes, I want a pirate pred with a peg leg and parrot drone for sure!
