I gave some thought this morning after my usual cup of coffee and said to myself:
The super predator mechanics, what would there be apart from the weapons?
Striding:
Strides instead of running.Equally found in other games where hitting the button rushes your character in one single dash with some kind of mach blast trailing behind you.
Lets just say to compensate, the standard jog speed would be placed at the run speed with this predator.
The dash would only allow for this pred to travel a several meters quickly in one single stride (how far that would be would need to be worked out as it simply wouldn’t work unless you could perfectly execute the stride while facing an opponent) . You could then do tricks like stride strikes using melee weapons.
Our standard predators running mechanic only offers little help and is currently mearly a way to get from point A to point B slightly more quicker. There isnt any other technique available to it. I think currently the jog/run system is only a way to navigate through tough craves since often times you can get stuck in a hard to navigate area of the jungle or just trying to jump up on rooftops or narrow staircases. Maybe it all requires a sensitivity change or a gravity change if speeds are increased.
Another option would be for jog/run would not change and Striding/Dashing would be a whole new button combination.
Tree Take-downs (ala Arkham’s batman).:
In the trees you’ll encounter victims below you. A take down prompt would show up and perhaps it would be like the Slam but it would be more controlled.
You won’t actually kill the FT but you’ll SLAM directly on top of him rather than pityfully trying to aim the damn slam mechanic.
That said, if slamming from the trees is easy to do, this could be slightly more easier but with a cool animation. Variety is all I ask because Super Predators should visually do something cooler than the predecessor.
