That's it, I'm getting it

If a stupid Idea works… it no longer stupid

Well skydiving without a paracute over a pool is a stupid idea, and it sure as hell ‘works’.

depends on altitude… at 50ft you hit water like it is concrete

Fair question

Also helps to know how deep the pool is…

and what material is it filled with as well.

Well… if its Ballistics Jell it will help slow you down sure… but its still depends on your approach and entry…

Also should take in account that if you are male this sport may cause infertility…

Jump headfirst, eliminates any chance of pingas malfunction.

I’ve jumped to water from distances higher than that. I know there’s a limit, but I believe 50 feet is still within the “safe” limit if you land on your feet or head and the water is deep enough. Landing on your back or chest will seriously injure you even at 30 feet.

It’s all about weight distribution and surface tension. The surface tension is what gets you. That’s why high divers do what they do unharmed, but even doing a bellyflop from a slightly high diving board can hurt like a bitch, especially if you hit the balls first.
Dive head or feet first and either your arms or legs will be able to break the surface tension easily, as much less water has to move to allow you into the pool.

Like you said, there is definitely a limit, but I just think the science behind it is cool.
