The 2v6 needs to become reality

I’ll do the same trying to explain my point…again I really think this all boils down to you reading what I’m saying wrong.

I’m not saying scrap the idea of multi pred, I’m saying you’re not considering some things that really do matter that’s all. I’ve got over 500 hours in so I’m not a combizerker but I remember them…

Seriously I’m willing to bet money in the end you’ll agree with most of what I’m saying at least lol

you are just straight up saying the game must be balanced around the baddies who struggle to fight a single melee predator and take at least one XP perk and think the minigun is “cool”

therefore you can’t do a 2v6 mode cause the baddies can’t possibly kill one person with 4 people so they can’t kill 2 with 6

so… you know what that means right? maybe JUST maybe
we need a tutorial so we can stop balancing the game around the worst players who picked up a controller for the first time who struggle to hit a target that doesn’t move like the game has been balanced around since launch

now abliet there is nothing inherently wrong with this belief however especially when gameplay is either “toxic” or harmful at keeping new players

however at a certain point you have to stop holding bad players hands and have them learn how to play the game so you can balance around people who actually know how the game and aren’t leveling to obtain all the things

Okay…so…going through again I get the responses because my examples of “why” the model fails are poor.

You’re 100% right that coddling the player base instead of improving it is a step backwards and a poor reason. Yes a tutorial should be implemented for FT and players taught how to use the mechanics correctly.

What I’m saying though is the way the game is now, upscaling hunt mode to multiple predators doesn’t work because you’re giving the primary advantage the FT has (teamwork) to the Predator side, with nothing to really balance it out.

I don’t think increasing the number of FT members in match, effectively balances out the teamwork advantage of 2 or 3 predators. Simply because the way the Predator is now, there is nothing stopping a duo or trio of preds parking themselves at distance and just spamming the caster at anything that moves. This isn’t as big a problem 1v4 but when you get to 2v6 and 3v12 or whatever, it definitely becomes a problem and just sucks the fun out of the game.

I see this mode very quickly turning that direction if implemented because of this and my solution is to make the Predators competitive instead of cooperative.

So you’re envisioning more of a team death match rather than coop? I could get behind that.

I dunno if that’s the proper term.
I’m more picturing 3 separate hunts, and breaking the rules of the hunt makes you game.

I’ve posted the idea before, I’ll have to look for it because I explained it a lot better then but basically my thought is, your goal as pred, in multi pred, is get the most trophies. If you take a trophy (claim FT) without marking them as yours (with heat vision tag), or take someone else’s trophy (kill/claim a FT another pred marked) you’re bad blood and now the other preds not only can claim you, but prioritize you.

That’s pretty cool. So would you take away muds ability to prevent making themn?

I don’t think that would be fair for FT. I think perks/specializations that deal specifically with tracking and marking players would be a better route for that. Maybe have the marker stick longer as a whole but getting rid of mud I think is a little too far

From reading posts above , I think a ranked system would separate the great from the good and the good from the new , but I dont think it will ever be implemented to this game. I dont see it having a big enough playerbase for them to even consider such a thing , which is all on them . They had such a rough first year that any potential playerbase they could have accumulated? Has slipped through their hands , could they turn it around ? For sure , but first impressions are everything

ok so what about when FT has bullet scan weapons but predator got nothing to balance it out
remember SAWZ is bullet scan so when the trigger is pulled the bullet instantly hits its target and takes a mask in 2 shots and does around 250 dmg a shot no buffs

or what about when FT got stacking damage buffs and predator got nothing to balance it out cause let’s not forget
Assault+ deadly + bane= 30% dmg buff+ sniper15+leader10 additional 25% dmg buff
down range btw is 10%
or what about when FT got a bunch of new gear items designed specifically to stop predators from using stealth or just straight up self reviving
and predator still has gotten no additional gear items that aren’t a meme

or that time FT got an assault rifle that was so good they nerfed it only for it to continue being the best assault rifle in the game
and predator consistantly got weapons to add to the “worst weapons in the game” list

or those pistols the FT has that has a dps of 850 no buffs btw (remember hunters have 1250 hp so they die in less than 2 seconds

why am i supposed to care that one of the adv ft gets (teamwork) goes away if a single predator struggles to have the same level of power as a single FT member
and FT get nothing to compensate for it when so far every additional thing FT gets predators don’t get anything to compensate for it until at LEAST 4 months later

and the only thing Dev’s can come up with to “compensate” is
“We buffed armor for the predator so he takes less dmg[except that one time it didn’t work] from all the dmg we gave FT because we don’t want to nerf any guns that are actually good”

your argument still hinges on bad players can’t kill a single predator and i guess that’s all you care about since they make up the majority

Two preds vs a 6 man fireteam , balances out what you explained above somewhat , in my eyes . Predator is still outmatched loadout wise

Because you can’t play a multi pred match against 6 or 12 FT members if nobody wants to play FT? I imagine after a week of preds bulldozing FT nobody will want to play it.

ok then just say then i believe the worst players (which are the majority) won’t enjoy this mode so it can’t be added to the game officially

instead of trying to argue it’s an imbalanced nightmare

cause currently the main mode of the game is an imbalanced nightmare once you get away from the trashcans

Fireteam que times are nearly 5 times longer for me now , with crossplay on . The pred wait times are still around 9-10 minutes

I don’t believe it will be limited to the worst players. I did admitted use the worst example however

Ft main advantage is not just team work it’s flat DPS. Fireteam has (a single member) more dps than the predator

Okay…
@KameofWar, @DisturbedLlama

I am wrong. I am dropping the subject. Forget everything I said

I mean this is a discussion you can have an opinion bro. Lol. Like your point about predators using teamwork is solid, I just don’t think it makes them op or nothing

Sorry I was kinda feeling like the discussions are steering off of “Will 2v6 work” into “Fireteam is OP” and “You can’t balance around potatoes” which are two things I frequently say myself around here.
I understand FT has the DPS in their favor right now and hopefully that changes in the next update. Illfonic has already said they recognize the balance favors FT right now. If it does change then what balances things out for the fireteam besides good teamwork.
My core point is and remains that if you take the game as is right now and just add to the number of players on each side, it’s not at all going to be good for FT gameplay. There needs to be more to it than that. Some rules and mechanics need to be looked at and changed in order to even the playing field enough for it to be a challenging, fun, and fair game.

Well fackin duh bro hahahaah that’s the point. Right now it’s ghetto as fuck cause I MADE IT. But I have shown it’s possible and the game won’t take a shit, and can handle the mode. So now we want the devs. To be devs, and sort out what needs to be done to make this a reality. Of course you can’t plop in a half baked mode and call it a day

Okay then.
In that case, I think i said that same thing when you made it about it being proof of concept that the frame rates won’t completely cave in on themselves lol.
