Well, I’m able to kill fireteam just easily. I don’t know what you’re talking about. Especially what you’d think to be a newbie, like me, in terms of playing time.
Get great with the disc is what I suggest. Pure melee is hard and requires more luck. Save it for 3v1 and less. Let’s put it this way: if I lose my combi, I can get by just fine. If I lose my 3 discs, it can be hard going against 4v1, but that never happens.
I’d argue this is more skill based than luck. I’ve taken Amazon Ghost with Sickle against some teams, admittedly in pubs but still, that knew how to shoot, grenade, parry and knife my ass, and won. Sometimes back to back. Its comes down to situational awareness and knowing when to engage and when to back off, monitoring your health bar and staying in motion.

It’s definitely skill based, but luck goes a long way. Keeping the pressure on the ft is the main way to win any match. Yes you have to keep moving, and looking for grenade icons. Though the better FTs will cook the grenades and all throw them at the same time.
