Personally I think this sounds like a typical entitled, selfish rant.

“Wah wah wah, I want to be a special little snowflake” post and it’s getting as old as “I want the 87 skin let’s start a petition”.

Bore off it’s becoming repetitive.

This mask is THE predator mask. All predators up to and including those in predator 2 had this style of mask. Not allowing anyone except pre-order to have this is doing a disservice to an iconic character.

Giving people early access to that mask for pre ordering was never about “giving supporters of the predator franchise no matter what” a reward.

It was to make people pre-order a game, to make money. Everyone who pre-ordered has had the mask for 2 months now, that was your reward - it was FREE.

Its commonplace in almost all games for pre-order bonuses to become available at a later date either for free, to digital deluxe upgrades or season pass holders. Nobody is bitching in those games about exclusivity.

If you paid for a DLC which then became free later I would understand, but this is just a childish millennial baby rant.

People say its common practice as if its the truth. Plenty of games keep their pre order content exclusive. Some don’t. The ones that don’t usually specify that the pre order is getting the thing for free or that its early access.

See in the english language, words have meaning. Because of this, companies use words to convey their intentions so they don’t get bombarded with lawsuits or bad reviews. People are not a fan of a company that doesn’t keep its word.

Other games also have other forms of exclusivity. There are these season passes going around, seasonal events, or legacy rewards. So why is this pre order any different? Its because you want it. That’s the difference. Its a selfish, entitled want that bumped and liked by other people in the same situation. And then you can demonize the other side, thereby making you in the right, and anyone who disagrees with you isn’t just wrong, they’re evil.

Whats funny is how many predator matches I win I get nothing… some entitled retard gets the 87’ skin and insults it with his shitty gameplay.

Not to bust your bubble @CelticPredator but the Elder is accurate. As said by People in the Effects Team in Interviews.

The Elder that appeared in Predator 2 is a repurposed Jungle Hunter made to look older. They just airbrushed it’s Facial Features, broke off a Mandible and added additional pieces of Armor. But they also didn’t include a Mask.

So since the actual Elder Predator on Screen is essentially an older and modified Jungle Hunter, Illfonic was winging it and gave us a Mask that’s, well, older looking and modified to look weathered.

I gave my Elder the Immortal Mask. It looks better IMO.

I cant believe some people still think there special because they have a pre order skin and get bent out of shape when the 87 mask is on the elder predator. Literally crying about it and tryin to diss the whole game and illfonic over it. Smfh. Please grow up.

My only issue with the elder mask is that it could have been a bit more different like having markings or claw marks to make it look like it’s seen hundreds of years of combat.

I very much like and support this idea lmao but also to add to this anyone see the figure of the younger elder which is cannon? It has a reskulpted sortov different jungle hunter mask and a completely new redesign of a mask

For those who are upset about the 87 mask being available in a loot crate, I get it. When I pre-ordered, I assumed the whole costume was part of the exclusive. Which I think a lot of folks did also. Illphonic was also pretty vague about it as well.

When it started showing up in loot crates I was as surprised as everyone else.

Either way, it’s no big deal in my opinion if folks get this or that mask:

Should’ve just been a DLC in my opinion. I really don’t like when companies do these pre order exclusives it’s just very shady in my opinion. And also the chances of you every obtaining it from a crate is damn near impossible so I doubt I’ll ever get it. Closest thing I’ll have to it is the elder mask but I’ll only be using it for that specific class since I like everything to be where it’s supposed to be.

It is common practice. Call of Duty, Hitman, Gears of War to name but a few.

Theres a probably a small minority of games that follow the practice of not doing it - the only one that comes to mind is F13 (another illfonic game), and theres a simple reason.

Why would they make perfectly good content exclusive to a handful of people FOR FREE, when they can actually sell it later for PROFIT

You can say that all you like, but a quick search shows that While Gears of War did it, they also didn’t. I think 3 had the Savage Kantus still exclusive to pre order. And call of duty MW gets you Captain Price for BO4, still exclusive.

Don’t use “facts” you can’t back up. I’ll keep digging if you want, but Its not worth my time. You chose big name titles, but as a large majority of people on the forum should know by now, We’re all still waiting for AVP 2010 to release their pre order skins to the public.

Sorry I was pretty sure GoW3 did this with the Dom Santiago skin but they didn’t, it was gifted for previous gears of war game participation because they don’t suck by curtain walling content.

Irrespective the other games and their sequels have. In addition Assassins creed 2, brotherhood and revelations did this.

Generally more games do this than not, which makes it common practice and this is “fact”. I’m not going to do a google search and provide links because I don’t care enough to try and prove something that everyone knows is true. It just doesn’t interest me that much.

Here are some facts though -

*The elder predator skin rewards a mask similar to the 87 mask.
*The 87 mask is available to everyone as a rare drop in look crates
*the 87 skin was a pre-order bonus that was free. Nobody paid any more for it. I Certainly did not. I paid more for digital deluxe version on my EGS account than I did on PS4 and didn’t get this free bonus.
*almost nobody uses 87 skin, therefore it’s a wasted resource in hundreds of games I’m the only person I’ve seen use this
*now there is an elder predator nobody cares about the 87 skin
*you are not special because you paid the same amount of money for the game as everyone else, but did this blindly in advance.

Arguing it on the forums is not going to change this so we are both wasting our times.

The fact you don’t want it to be a fact doesn’t make it any less of a fact does it?

In conclusion - Illfonic do not suck as the OP says because they have bruised a person’s ego who has pre-ordered. In fact they have made a move to make all of their paying customers happy, while still adding an element of rarity to that pre-order bonus. Which to me says they are a good company who deserves my money.

Despite all this I actually want the predator 87 skin to become a paid DLC now so I can watch all the salty pre-order kids go nuts on the forums, whinging about the ownership rights for an in-game item they got for FREE 😂
