Problem there being UNLESS A WHOLE NEW WAVE OF PLAYERS GETS behind a shlew of new gameplay activities during this mode, then the logistics still won’t be able to even get people into a match made game within 10 minutes let alone the usual 2-3 minutes.

Look unless the game removes HUNT altgother and is forced into this “GAUNTLET”. Then its forcefully possible. But because the concept is HUNT exists, and CLASH exists, then GAUNTLET is added on top of that? You will have to remove HUNT AND CLASH from possible game play modes.
And no bots shall exist…unless they magically make it fun to have them.
So potentially, what could work is an existential lobby as a free for all 1-3 predators…and bots shall exist and the time frame of match making is fixed to that approach. They would have to program some pretty good ideas for Predator BOTS, let alone FT BOTS that actually might make a difference.
Not to mention keep all those ZEUS narratives at the start of the games, because without him there wouldn’t be much of a game narrative. The Clash narrative was a hack to begin with.

The biggest problem with a 3v12 (I think 3v9 would be better) is that it removes the one advantage the fireteam queues have: friends. If you and a buddy or two hop on the game, you’ll play FT and kill the pred. You can’t really play in public with friends if someone is the predator. It doesn’t really work that way. However, if there are multiple preds, why play the FT unless you have four or more friends? It would become a dead gamemode and drag down hunt with it.
DBD has a far healthier player count and when 2v8 hits, the wait times skyrocketed, upwards of half an hour, just because you could play killer with a friend. They had to implement a “Play while you wait” mechanic so enough people would play survivor so the killer queues would drop.

Like something like fortnight? I don’t know which games have this currently, but the idea went around the forums one time of having people ‘drop’ in from the sky from a parachute ala Predators.
Problem is, i’ve seen for these types of gameplay types, it feels like COD. and the loop is super short and uninspiring.
the tone of PHG would have left because people would drop in mid-game and you’re half-way through objectives.
Its a hard task to develop a sensible solution.
We tried 2 predators against 6 FT’s with some mods around 2 years ago and it was massively balanced in favor of the preds. 3 against 9, I would expect it to be even more.
The problem is that at the current state of the game, it would take 8-9 FT players to all aim and hit the same pred to down it in a single “multi-shot”, but 2 preds are enough to down any single FT with a single “multi-shot”.
The damage curves would need to be drastically adjusted for such a game mode to work.
Thats called a Full Fat Private match. That includes 100% human, 100% vetted for friends, 100% grass fed beef (everyone is healthy, focused, running at 60fps and everyone is ready for deathsquading). I mean lets be real, the game as a publicly match made game with people dropping out for whatever reasons (FEAR) is not equal to a Full Fat FT squad on Privates.
Privates are purely for fundamental testing, not stress testing, and meant to play around with gravity and big head mode, which would be fun if somebody made it fun.
