I said that the problems we face are still bad. We are not better in many ways compared to the past and we should get over our “high horse” mentality.
Morality’s core foundation at its most simplistic is the golden rule. Moral claims can be tested for applicability & you weigh the ends of a goal vs the means to achieve it.
It’s not so much whether an action is blanket good or bad, because most aren’t. It’s a matter of whether the good outweighs, or will outweigh the bad and can that be proven to justify levels of harm

That’s not morality though. Yes we can look at history and learn from it but at the end of the day what’s works doesn’t man it’s morily right.
For instance wealth distribution might work well (not saying it does just an example that’s clear to understand) but that doesn’t mean that I find it morally good because your taking money away from some one that owns it.
From my perspective right now what works well is objective and what is right is subjective.
That were going to have completely disagree on completely. I don’t care how much bad something does if you have a right to do it you can do it.
I think we’re just going to have respectfully agree to disagree because I just don’t see a foundation for what is and isn’t right
You can’t infringe on someone elses right to live without causation lol. Life has inherent value like any other resources as it’s finite and can’t be given by an outside party.
You could say life is meaningless, making self-preservation meaningless, making morals meaningless but its contradictory to being alive and living in a society.

Even if you are reducing people to a resource. Personally I think there’s inherent value in not only any resource they may be but also the unique point of view they represent for a brief time, in the totality of existence.
Just the fact that we can be aware of reality, is valuable.

Morality stand rooted in the desire, instincts and healthy mental faculties of self preservation of one and the ones around you. And that’s where evolution along with the development of complex things as emotions, thinking also gave us the sense of altruism. Because intelligence and intellect.
So if you are an individual following both personal and social environment rules ethics and respect also your instincts in the blend comes morality. Also morality is defined by actions obviously. And circumstances that those actions are being made based not only on social standards of behavior and thinking but all the way to the individual one.
A good moral compas is defined not only by laws and regulations that govern over and individual or society but also by the health state of the mind and if the individual reprises and got into what a good conduct is defined by things such as his mental faculties. And that is what philosophy hand in hand with evolution helped us understand so far.
