The reason its shitty design is because once your downed, there is no reason you should become invulnerable to attack.
You shouldnât have to be finished off in a special way if youâre a normal human.
Not only that there really shouldnt be a downed system depending on what attack hit you.
If you go down you should be able to be removed.
Otherwise this will just be abused and youl have ft abusing this all the time.
If you cant kill a downed member,
Then ft can drag it out with heals til the end of the mission, would not be any fun to deal with.
Ft already barely takes ski, this would completely remove any aspect of skill from the equation.
Then it doesnt matter if you get downed or not.
Not only that, claims are too dangerous to go for as it is.
With reinforcements?
Youd really make it impossible to kill good fts.

You really wanna focus on stealth kills then make them always available.
Not like it would matter tho, they leave you wide open and youd get fucked by the main problem this game suffers from, ft dps.

But youâre completely forgetting The opposite end who would abuse a mechanic like that, ESPECIALLY if youâre Making quick claims take longer.
Iâm not the only one who feels this is a bad idea.
The only way I can see this even being remotely a good idea, is if we can start Breaking limbs with plasma caster, disarming people, blowing off/cutting off limbs, throwing, grabbing, stealth killing at any time.
In order for this to be anywhere near balanced,
You would have to add a severe punishment for getting downed.
Being opened to stealth attacks is not.
They would need some kind of heavy negative Stat.
50-70% lower movement speed,
Constant Bleed damage,
Heavy disorientation,
Loss of certain abilities like aiming or throwing things, ect.
This is the only way that would be balanced so downing them still feels rewarding and gives you a chance or opening, that youâre trying to take away.
And I doubt anyone would want that, even tho pred needs those kinds of status effects whether youe idea gets put in or not.
Itâs the games job to naturally promote a healthy gameplay. Not for the players to artificially make it.
Not to mention that just entails me adding fluff to the match rather than adding more of the same gameplay.

Not to mention what other game has 3 minute matches? Let alone one with high que times.

Downing players repeatedly is terrible game flow. Copying some of their perks are cool but I donât want anything copying the casual aspects of DBD. Hooking people and sprinting a circle waiting for them to be rescued is just terrible pvp design

They get downed and one of three things happens
- They get slugged and bleedout bitching about sluggers
- They get hooked while the killer stares into their eyes or patrols and they spend the next 15 minutes mashing spacebar bitching about hook campers because they get rehooked immediately
- The killer lets them get unhooked to farm bloodpoints
Its just silly uninteractive gameplay, the hook isnt even a real minigame.
DBD is built around removing people from the game in phases then hitting people that arenât currently removed. Literally freeze tag asymmetrical.
PHG isnt and me slamming some guy whoâs getting revived repeatedly isnt improving gameplay. You shouldnât just feel like youâre fighting against hp bars and downed counters. Players can shoot back in this game. They shouldâve settled for a less arcadey default mode to start.
