Gonna have to agree with this one
I really like the original Predator design and I didn’t mind predator 2 or Wolf’s spiky mandibles, but the original face just seems so perfect to me.
Feral’s face is a little too long and narrow, and the vertical upper mandibles are an unnecessary change in my opinion. I understand that some of the change was to facilitate the mask only covering the upper half of the face, but the changes didn’t need to be so extreme. The rest of the head is “bubbly” and doesn’t have the clean look from the original two movies.
Everything else is good as far as physique and armor, or lack thereof.

Kinda a good middle ground where it’s not too good but also not too bad, in conclusion it’s a fun movie

Isk if its about being open minded its more of a “why does every director feel the need to throw thier spin on the predator” its base design was iconic for a reason and the only movie to respect that was predator 2 and partially predators( which i like btw) but ill still call a spade a spade.
I’ve said this befire but ill say it again at what point does “adding” constitute as changing the iconic look that made predator what it is? Im aure you’d be open to any and all but i think more are against it because the more it cganges the more directors wanna 1 up the last “bold” design to the point where it ain’t even predator anymore except the sound and the hunting aspect

To answer your question directly - I’m not sure why are they pushing to change the looks and design. In my opinion the Stan Winston design aged very well and there is absolutely no need to change it. Movie is really good, and old design would do just fine. This new on… idk. He is scary and more animalistic, but he was changed so much I’m beginning to think that this was not a Yautja at all but one of the last Hish.

Yup id have to agree 100% idk why the need to change it, its actually annoying that they do that. So i guess ita safe to say its a good movie with a partially bad design (good while masked and bad when unmasked)
Face was dumb. I enjoyed the movie though. He’s a cool pred in terms of gear and ass kicking.

Its a good movie with a different design -some will love it, some hate it, some (like me) will spend the next few weeks trying to figure out how a goddamned Hish managed to get himself involved in to a Yautja hunt event and what exact subspecies was it ;-)

The preds design is based around having the mask.
Without it, he’s ugly, which not even the ugly motherfucker is ugly in my eyes.
But with the mask, he has one of the best designs.

I guess I understand where your coming from, however I’m okay with changes as long as they keep it true to the roots of the species. I think a good idea is City Hunter & Wolf who changed the design but stayed true to it.
Now with Feral is somewhat staying true by being connected to the Super Predators which we have all agreed to be canon and we loved that. Hell even Alpha or the Hish where playing it almost unsafe but it stayed true to the character. What I’m saying is, change isn’t always bad and what might be bad or horrible design for us, someone else might like it, and some people agree.
