Hit and Run Melee is more fun for me personally.
HOWEVER, Ranged is the superior option as if you are facing a even a half decent team melee is still suicide.
Doesn’t make sense to me that Range naturally has higher DPS than melee. Melee should be high risk, high reward with high DPS against fireteam, but FT’s high DPS to makes it risky. Ranged should be lower risk, slightly lower reward, BUT still be a viable option (keep it as is now, just increase melee DPS to make it worth it).

Any decent squad melts any melee Pred from my experience.

I tend to agree. That’s what modified reserve is for (pew pew) and the disk. Get them softened up. Then sprinkle in hit and run. That katana slaps really fucking hard with fearless and ghost. Two quick hits is devastating.
Try Ghost with Valkyrie.
Combistick throws and katana.
Impenetrable, dithered lens, and that perk which drains your energy less.

First Range weapons, but when the situation is good for melee I will go for Infight! I love Infight but against good FT you need to stay away…
