Veteran Players

I’d love to hear their reasoning for not raising the level cap. It’s such an easy thing to do. I guess they just don’t give a shit about the long term players.

Same as any multiplayer game with a level cap. They dc about haha brrrr number go up.
Casual game.

I’m surprised they raised it initially. Not that anyone can see your number anyways.
That and to some extent matchmaking is level-based. You’re not getting put with a level 1 pred as a 150 FT. It lets them control the flow of player progression and avoid loose matchmaking perimeters.

GIVE US A FONCTIONING GAME x’))))

Has anyone confirmed this? I can speak to this as being probable, at least anecdotally.

Running a full 4 FT of all forum-dwellers, we ran into 3 straight Sweatadors (two of which are fellow forum-dwellers) before we got our first Baby Pred.

Definitely matchmaking in place. Not sure if it takes into account winrate etc or if its just level.

But in response to OP and people asking: A pool of people being level ~500 means you would be playing with the same people almost all of the time as long as they"re online lol. That kind of system only works in RDR where you have huge lobbies and they’re randomized.

I hope we get the Russian character (Nikolai Federov) from Predators. I still get sad when he dies, albeit it is heroically. He’s the “cleanest” death in the films, so that’s probably why he’s so beloved by me. 😞

I’m a bit of a simpleton so your RDR talk is sliding off the surface of my brain.

But, it is cool to know there is at least some sort of matchmaking going on.

RDR levels you infinitely and then matchmakes for the instanced deathmatch modes where you’ll see the same lv500s running around everyday if you’re around the higher level range. I would say let sweats play with sweats but there’s no “unranked” mode to even opt out you just eventually have to play with people who play the same game every single day in the sweatiest matches possible forever.

PHG doesnt really have big enough lobbies to support uncapped levels unless they lower matchmaking perimeters. Battle royales can have the element of randomness because usually 1 person can’t take on the whole lobby without getting shot in the back. Prestige modes atleast remove weapons and then match all prestiges together but we don’t know what portion of the playerbase is maxed out to begin with anyways.

Unfortunately, I don’t think Matchmaking is level based. As a Level 150 FT, I have encountered Default Hunters running headfirst into fights along with Assaults with the default perk selection. As a Level 150 Predator, I have encountered Default Assaults with the first Assault Rifle.

What was your queue time at?

Same.

Some even don’t even have specializations on.

Where are you all getting this information that there is matchmaking by level, win rate, etc.?

I wish this was the case, but in my experience, this doesn’t seem likely.

If I had to make a guess, there are simply 2 queues. One for fireteam and one for predator, and you get paired with whomever is next. There might be some additional parameters based on connection quality, but I’ve played a lot of new predators with maxed out premades, and a lot of potato fireteams as predator.

The matchmaking system is neither level nor skill based given how many headless chicken newcomers i keep getting teamed up with when queuing for FT. Specializations? Hah! I wish. Most of them are running the default set up. Some of them don’t even have equipment or perks equipped at all for some reason.

It finds you whoever is still playing this game regardless of their level, skill or location. I find myself playing with and against people across the world more and more. I am starting to see pings in the triple digits these days.

Instead of raising the cap why not just add a prestige system that allows you to re-obtain all your weapons and perks while earning new cosmetics as well in the process. Ik this isn’t the most ideal solution but personally I’d rather this than to see a level 1000+ player.

Useally just 20 to 40 seconds for FT.

3 to 5 minutes as Predator.

Ill still be here but im def looking into other games to focus on

I have always hated prestige systems like that.

I mean I hit 150 in about two weeks and have been here since Nov 24, but I don’t really count as a veteran. But, I have found ways to entertain myself by simply grinding for mythical trophy hunting, getting new customizations to make cool looking predators, and just having fun. Would I like to see level cap go up to 200 with Super Predator and the 3 masks? Yes, but no big deal if they just release them and level cap stays the same.

People have been 150 since June.

Its now December with no real drive other than expecting the consumer/gamers to create their own fun.

You providing us with an example of that.

Also people feel the mythical trophies aren’t a good enough incentive to grind due to how some day 1 people done have one still.

Something has to give for us that have invested in this game for the benefit of newer players coming in

What about us?!?!?!?!

play around with builds you have the knowledge so i guess try have fun discovering new ways to play
