wanted to try game again... nope. constant crashing...

RTX 2080Super using latest driver 461.92… also tried older versions

Ryzen 7 5800x - 1900FCLK 32gb @3800c14 1:1:1 - RTX 2080Super - Gen3 NVME SSD

i know its meaningless but im not having issues with other UE4 titles or other games. (had some issues with cyberpunk with GPU overclocked but fine at stock)

just seems the game doesnt like my config. im going to do some more stability testing and stuff but all things are pointing to GPU letting go. even underclocked to 50% power limit -200mhz and -500mhz on the memory and it still did it…

Having some issues with MSI OC Scanner too, failing to complete a scan. so maybe its recent drivers from nvidia or something… but im assuming most here are using up-to-date drivers right? so i dont know. just trying to have a game but at this rate ill just sack it off for some more months its not worth messing about with to just see if i can get back into the game or not.

dont even worryt about it, just got in a match and framerate is trash and it crashed again. not going to bother any more wasted too much time as it is.

Uninstalled, try again in 6 months

could it be your resolution is a touch too high? and your settings?
If you can’t start the game in 1080p without it choking, then there is something wrong with the video drivers.
Your hardware is similar to mine/ or comparable but the problem I found with the most up to date drivers from Radeon and my operating system wind7, weren’t gelling together. Got choppiness on this game but not on others. So i reverted back to older drivers (this is a trouble shooting thing, you’ll need to nail this down through trail and error).

I was only luck that i never updated my drivers for a year and I had happened to had a version that already worked.

well it could be new drivers related but i also DDU and tried some older ones and still the same.

Running high instead of epic seems to have reduced it but it still happens.

iv sent the crash logs and explained so maybe they can look into it.

I was just wondering if there was a known fix to the problem but if not then ill have to play around and see what happens.

Later all thanks for trying.

I’ve sent in the crash logs to the team so that they can take a look at the issue

thanks, i got 2 games in earlier without crash and i must say the game still is great despite its flaws. so i hope i can fix this crash as id like to play more.

most of the crashes are like this:

Hm, im going to try disabling the epic games overlay thats one thing i havn’t tried yet that never used to be in the Epic Games Launcher. Also tried running as admin.

EDIT: Nope still “unhandled exception” while in gameplay.

Illfonic: releases content that isn’t coded properly

Fans: how do I simply play this game?

Illfonic: welcome to the volunteer Q/A and coding division!

Yes and no, it could be something to do with the game or my configuration.

Im running brand new CPU and the newest build of windows that hasnt been about long, it could be GFX drivers or anything really. or it could be the games fault. but im hoping these error reports will help track it down.

here are 16 more crash reports @Courier

NVIDIA in Driver DEBUG mode still crashes so i dont think its to do with the GPU, Debug mode runs the GPU at NVIDIA reference clocks even downclocking a factory overclock.

Just to add some more detail. Sitting in a map on private match alone seems to be fairly stable i have left the game on for over an hour in map with no time limit and it works ok, ruuning around, killing ai etc tutorial also seems to be stable.

purpousfully navigating the menus at the main menu, like going into EXTRAS and back, and flicking throught various menus seems to trigger it much more frequently.

And playing online it seems to happen often.

I thought maybe Network driver so i have updated that to no effect. still occuring.
I have done a “SFC /scannow” in windows command prompt and nothing was found to be a problem.
I have repaired the EasyAntiCheat install just in case it was that…
Done a CHKDSK disk check with no problems found, ran OCCT GPU error detection for over an hour with no errors… i also found a new bios for my motherboard that came out like a few days ago, so now i have that installed and configured, memory tested etc etc.

System seems to be rock solid other than this title. so im pretty sure its the game or some way the game is not liking my config or something about it.

Yep, played a long time now and no crash. It seems to be related to the AMDs PBO2/XFR “precision boost” algorythm on Ryzen 5000 - If i set it to boost +150+mhz it crashes a lot, if i set it to boost +100mhz it crashes rare but still does. testing at 0 is totally stable.

~ All testing indicated that the system is stable but this game finds an instability somehow. Maybe there is something Devs can do or maybe not, but ill just remember to turn down that setting and if anyone else comes across the same issue it may be worth trying this.

I had to reset my BIOS and then go through and change different settings (memory speed/timings, voltages etc) untill it started happening again.

Oh well, back to pulling spines!

Happy Hunting,
