This is most definitely a bug/glitch and should be put in the bug report category.
I encountered a bug/glitch were my reinforced team mates were just floating guns once
I’ve also found a bug that I was able to clip here

I think it’s a bug related to the smart disk somehow. I’ve not encountered it myself.
