To be fair, modding at the moment is only possible on PC as there is no one experienced enough in the community to break the game assets and repack on console.
Also hard as fuck to unpack, mod and repack on pc by itself, and any update to any mod we do would have to be done replacing basically the entire game which is contained, mostly, in a single gigantic file.
Good thing (maybe) is that the lack of anti-cheat (as we demonstrated that game has no easy anti cheat at all) makes it viable for us to mod it. And at least the changes we have been working on for private matches, only the host needs to be running the mods.
I highly doubt they would open up for it. Specially in multiplayer games. Some developers don’t even like it for their single player games.
I’d be happy with the simple fact that they take notice of our efforts and eventually take a hint and develop something similar themselves, or at the very least reach out to consult. I know this community has been very passionate, opinionated, ignorant and toxic, and that has driven them away because they lack experience dealing with people like that. But if they reach out the right people, with an open mind, I know most of us will acknowledge their effort and cooperate. At the end of the day, we just want the game to be better, and we are willing to help, if they ever let us.
