Sorry to butt in. I think it’s wrong to think in absolute terms in some situations, as in killing. Killing in self defence is justified, killing by police to protect is justified, killing in war may be justified. Overall killing is amoral, but there are exceptions.

I didnt, but I was way too lenient with bullshit for far too long. In an attempt to keep things civil I put up with a lot of shit I wouldn’t have back in the day.

Hypocrisy is when you knowingly say one thing, and knowingly do the opposite or don’t hold yourself to the same standards. This is a conscious choice that is made, and is most often done in situations when the individual believes that no one will or is able to hold them accountable to their word, and where this contradictory action would provide some benefit to them.
Cognitive dissonance is when an individual genuinely believes 2 contradicting viewpoints, and does not notice or accept this contradiction. This is subconscious or possibly willful ignorance, and is done so that an individual may not have to face the truth of a scenario, or make the choice to accept one viewpoint and reject the other. The person does not believe or truly accept that their actions are contradictory.
