People realize Rockstar’s the only one making good open world games right and that’s a talented team of hundreds of people?
The other competition is Bethesda that just releases buggy crap on their decade old dinosaur engine & hopes modders fix the game.
Doubt. They’ve been expanding pretty rapidly since F13.
Their friend at Fox is just going to give them another IP to make an easy game with. As long as the profit exceeds the cost of development it doesn’t really matter. They could drop this game and move on to the next project like the typical indie does but they don’t.

That’s the sad reality of it all. Very few companies put forth extra effort if it yields only small profit. Also another reason why you see indie devs take bigger chances or think outside the boxes. Sometimes they come up with a golden ticket idea.
But once they have money they don’t want to piss it away which is why AAA just “play it safe”
They’re going to choose whoever’s got the most convenient offer if they’re interested a lot of the time. Especially if its an IP that hasn’t been touched in awhile. Not neccessarily get picky about credentials.
Same with movies when you’re like why is this no-name director & these writers/actors i’ve never heard of working on a star wars movie?
It just happens. Connections and a pitch are more important a lot of the time.

It’s like going up to someone on the street and offering them a briefcase with $1000 in it or another one with $1,000,000 in it and they choose the briefcase with less money
On the bright side it gives the small guys a chance to build their portfolio.
Otherwise the entertainment industry would just be a giant circlejerk of “best directors” “best actors” “best game devs” “best writers”

Illfonic made the pitch. Fox wasn’t begging for someone to make a pred game nor should they because then a big studio can charge whatever for a half-assed corporate check product either way, ends up being more expensive than 20 guys asking if they can make a pred game.

I highly enjoying the battlefield games. Interesting some of those cod devs are working on bf6… not for nothing but Respawn are ex cod devs and I thought titanfall was dope as fuck.

Unpopular opinion, but Battlefield games typically get boring quickly and games typically die out quickly from what I’ve seen.
B5 was out maybe 5 month’s when I got it and the game was pretty well dead a month later in the majority of modes.
COD I feel like typically lasts longer due to it being fast paced, less skill based, chaotic, well know titles and maps, and has a larger fan base of die hard fans.
Personally, I prefer Halo over them both. Halo been a die hard fan since first game on the og xbox and have played and beat them all on Legendary. Felt they all had a great and enjoyable storyline even though bunch dissed 4 and 5 for how Cortana went and it turning too futuristic I guess? I enjoyed them, but also read several books, some comics and it was pretty well known it was going this route.
Alot rip on 343 Industries, but most don’t know 343 is actually made up of most of the Dev’s from Bungie that worked on Halo originally.
