That’s a basic tip. Wont help everyone tho.
2.0 - Pred nerfed to the ground
Do you encounter a lot of people who only move sideways? I’ve never seen this.
well i feel it falls under not giving a fuck because if you did and really tryed to learn the game then you wouldnt be facing this issue also as i recall didnt you make the arguement that we shouldnt blance the game for people that dont give a shit? seems like your going back on your words there.
though im all ears please fill me in on how you mean.
The patch gave some much needed buffs to the Fireteam to keep the plebs competitive but there was also some fair buffs to Pred. I haven’t seen anyone mention the huge damage buff to the A.I against the FT, they can actually kill you now and are extremely annoying in large groups. I’ve always won most of my games as a solo player with randoms, no matter what patch we’re in, because good players are going to win and that sets a bias for all of us. “I win all the time, it’s balanced/unbalanced.” The developers look at the general player base, not the 5-10% of us that actually know how to play the game.
I played with three other friends the other night and we steamrolled all save one Predator. The one whom we couldn’t beat was a PC player using a scout with all the ranged goodies and basically infinite jumping. My team isn’t high-tier in skill so the Predator was able to poke us and run away, jumping across the map whenever we got close. With pigs literally everywhere on the map, he basically had infinite healing and it became a rinse and repeat situation where we just couldn’t actually get any real damage in. The Predator wins the battle of attrition 10 out of 10 times.
I was the last man standing and while I was able to put some fair damage in, the Predator player just kept leaping away and not really engaging me so I finished the mission by doing a lot of hiding and juking around the objective. I had a very narrow escape on the chopper with the Predator literally standing behind me but again, that only happened because I was able to effectively hide and set up a distraction before running to the chopper, arriving at the exact moment the ropes dropped.
Players of average skill are going to get wrecked both as the Predator and Fireteam, the game could always use a bit of balance but overall it seems to work out just fine for the vast majority of the player base. If you’re good, you’re going to win most of your games and that doesn’t mean you or your opposition are OP, it means the other players are better than you and accepting that is the first step to being a better player.
he probably just encounters a lot of FT that run in circles as right now it’s the most effective movement when fighting the predator in close/ ground level fights specially with the double time perk being buffed
Pigs aren’t everywhere.
But…
THEY COULD BE IF NUFFLE BLESSES YOU WITH GOOD RNG
Huh. That’s funny. That’s how I engage FT with melee
What this game needs is a whole god damn rework. It needs to feel like the Arkham game’s predator levels where you stealthily pick people off one by one using gadgets and height advantages.
Instead what it actually feels like is the clunky, clashing of action figures where the predator just happens to be made out of weaker material than the fireteam action figures.
yeah most players weakness is they don’t use high enough sensitivity for them to turn/react quickly to things so the best strat in FPS is to always run in circles or constantly try to get behind your opponent as if they lack high speed sensitivities they just lose and there is nothing they could’ve done besides change and learn higher settings
this is only not true in heavy cover shooters where instead of a focus on fast movement they focus on cover use and map knowledge like CS:GO for example
Curse you NUFFLE!!!
So I’ve had (technical) success and failure with Pred and FT since fhe update. Honestly though there have been plenty of newbs to be the deciding factor.
Hit and run has always be the only real viable melee approach, before you could get away with strong arm tactics but now you close range and even 1 FT member nearby knows what he’s doing you’re in SW.
It’s definitely a lot more mental and strategic now, and I really have no answer for a premade death squad.
Honestly (and this is really sad) I’ve had 2 preds just wait out the whole match till the FT hits exfil, wait for that idiot to pop a dozen smoke grenades and then the team is just served up on a platter and this is probably you’re only good option for straight melee. Other than that, dip in, 1-2 swipes with melee weapon of choice (other than war club) and jump out, follow with ranged weapon of your choice and just wear them down over the course of the match. They huddle up and hide? Slam and shoulder caster. It’s a shame there’s no real game mechanic to scatter the team.
I mean, not literally everywhere, as in you take a step and trip over a pig. They are still all over the map and numerous enough that you can effectively have infinite healing. In that game in particular we saw a group of seven pigs all in one area in addition to the random pigs scattered all about the map. The point is, there are so many pigs that you are going to run out of healing/ammunition long before the Predator can’t heal and poke you again, thus the Predator wins the battle of attrition every time.
I ‘developed’ this technique on the N64 with 007 : The World Is Not Enough and dubbed it the dance of death.
You have to find pigs early because if you wait til second wind they won’t be anywhere but near FT maybe after searching for several minutes one will pop up in a ‘safe’ spot.
all worship Nuffle hallow be his name may your dice roll forever 20s or at least not 1s
I’m a Pred main and I’m usually about 70-30% success rate. Now I’ve dropped a bit, losing a bit more, but it’s still very achievable to win matches. Just need to be a bit smarter die to the nerfs
God this is what always gets annoying with this whole shit.
When it comes to the ft being able to shred the pred, I am not talking about an individual or personal case.
This is just how some guns are.
Meanwhile on pred, fast wiped dont happen simply cause of the preds arsenal or abilities.
Or are you really trying to tell me that you only win on pred cause its arsenal? That it has nothing to do with you?
I don’t see how you think I’m going back on my word here.
I get tired of people talking about personal skill when it comes to balance, cause I’m not focusing on that.
Theres too many variables when you look at like that.
I’m focusing on numbers, not player skill.
Are you suggesting they spawn beside the FT and/or despawn everywhere else but beside the FT? Also, you should always be on the lookout for pigs and have them set up to munch on before you decide to engage in guerilla-style gameplay that will see you needing healing often. You’re basically telling me, “yes but you have to play the game properly and that’s why you’re wrong.”
As I said as well, utilizing the A.I has always been part of a good strategy but now more than ever, it’s insanely useful. Not only because they make a ton of noise which masks the sound of you healing but FT players can get absolutely melted attempting to run through a camp on full alert.
I chased down a Pred and got punished because I didn’t pay attention to my health after running through an A.I camp. I’m used to losing like maybe 20 health but with the new patch, I was nearly dead and the Predator was able to kill me instead of me killing them like I used to do. The new patch has changed things up enough to keep everyone on their toes and competitive, it’s not at all perfect but very welcome.
It’s just you said pigs are everywhere. That’s all.
