2 things that bug me

1.) How an Ft knife can take away 20% of a Preds health in 1 hit. 20. Friggin. Precent. In 1 hit. The other day, I played against a pretty good FT and some youngster, likely in his early 20s based on his voice and attitude alone, (name was OG-something ot other) came directly at me and in 4 hits had me to 20% health. I did some quick healing and determined that he must have a lightsaber to do that kinda damage. What perks combined with what specializations stack for that combo?
I was going to ask him after the match, but even though I won, he got mouthy about the amount of damage he did, so I didn’t get to ask. Anyone know the secret sauce for that kind of butter?

2.) This is an opinion query. If a Predator claims at least one Ft, meaning 1 Ft is dead and gone by the end of the match (either FT didn’t get to reinforce, or they did and Pred got one more kill after that), if the timer runs out and FT doesn’t exfil, the Pred gets the win cinematic.
What does this mean to you as a player? How do you interpret it?
To me, as either a Pred or Ft, it means the Ft failed. It means they (or we, if Im Ft) failed in their mission, failed to kill the Predator, and eventually, based upon the Predator win cinematic, ran out of ammo and were left in the jungle to die either at the hands of the Predator or the natural dangers of the jungle. Either way, the Ft loses.
I ask because that’s what that means to me, but the young gentleman mentioned above seems to believe that FT wins because he was still alive when the timer expired and was quite convinced of it. Incanndefi5see his POV, seeing as I didn’t kill him, but the games mechanics are set up to make those circumstances an Ft loss.
I dont think there’s anything necessarily wrong/mistaken with that POV either. If one wants to get really deep into the nerd-pool, one could surmise that perhaps the survivors escaped on foot, or hot wired a stargazer jeep, etc. The “Fireteam Eliminated” screen, to me, puts the kibosh on that, but what do you all think?

The game assumes the Yautja don’t value defense by omitting a simple block feature

I think the game should go on if they fail to exfil

There should be other exfils at the edge of the map

The game shouldn’t be over unless FT exfil, die or kill the Predator

I agree just because the copper left doesn’t mean the hunt is over
Maybe Illfonic could implement a second escape route as a last chance of GTFO, if they can’t kill the Predator

  1. Probably Bane and Heavy Hitter. Not sure if any specializations help.

  2. FT only wins by someone getting on the exfil copter, or giving the Pred body to OWLF. If the timer runs out, its an FT loss. Now, if the pred doesn’t get a kill, its also a pred loss. Basically, the FT aren’t getting out of the jungle. But if the Pred doesn’t get a kill, its basically saying that the pred isn’t good enough to take on the FT, so its probably the endless supply of AI killing the FT. No honour.

@BadBlood The FT doesn’t need an endless supply of second chances. The game has to end at some point. FT gets 2+ revives and a reinforcement radio. If they miss the exfil, that’s it. Its just like if the Pred misses the FT and they escape. They missed their window, that’s it.

So this is my meaningless opinion, because I really don’t care. I think if the timer runs out, it should be a draw. Reason being is because the pred had more than enough time to kill the ft. That’s the pred’s mission to kill the ft. On the other hand, the ft had more than enough time to complete their mission and exfil. You can’t speculate that the ft are automatically going to die in the jungle at the hands of the pred. We can make the argument that if given more time the ft could kill the pred. So let’s just leave it at what it is. The ft couldn’t complete their mission, and the pred couldn’t kill the entire ft so NOBODY WINS!!!

Its a very unsatisfying conclusion

But another one I dont really care one way or the other

What I really care about is content

Bane and Heavy Hitter.

Predator wins by technicality.

Now as for what the FT guy had it was probably Bane, Heavy Hitter, and someone might of had Leader (not sure if it effects melee damage)

Lol. the FT can camp underneath backwater. So skilled.

Timer running out is pred win condition. Its there to prevent FT abuse.

Tell that to 4 supports with med kits, gearhead, camping in a room.

Regardless, 15 mins is more than enough time for either ft or pred to die.

And

eh? Gonna have to look into that. Thats even better than. Lightsaber!

As far as story elements are concerned, its a Pred win, sure. Because eventually, FT are gonna run out of ammo, food or have to take a shit and some insane jungle insect is gonna bite them and they’ll die.

Two things that bug me

  1. People who are intolerant of other people’s cultures
  2. The Dutch

Ya. So for normal matches the timer doesn’t matter.

But the timer helps prevent camping.

So everyone is happy.

He used cheats and they didn’t get to the chopper so the Predator wins for sure, damn FT buff even getting a cinematic victory is enough because of the ridiculousness of 4 weak humans standing against one mighty Predator

This kid was tenacious too. Kept trying to knife me to death. Almost got me a couple times. Dutch or no Dutch, thats ridiculous

Ya with those guys I suggest this strategy

  • after parry
  • turn around and go cloak
  • then attack

Rinse and repeat you will be fine if not plasma him after retreating to a tree till he’s down then long claim his ignorant ass for attempting to 1v1 you

Eh… either way, I’ll take my win, whether he survives or not. A win is a win is a win.
