$649 for RX 6800 XT vs $699 for RTX 3080

I’m leaving Sony for someone better. But should I wait for the 3080 to reappear or go AMD?

Any Pc gamers have any advice on the GPU I should use? I can handle Nvidia’s 3090 but is it worth it compared to gaming today. Im definitely getting black ops, predator, master chief collection and half life alyx is on the list.

I’m not sure why people do the Nvidia route, because Physx is only for specific games. ie.Akrham Origin…
This game doesn’t have dynamic particle physics so it won’t utilize this dynamic…i went with Radeon cards less 200-300$

It was advised by a consultant. I want something that will cover a range of games. If my setup is juiced up I can go lower GPU quality still? Seems like the 3080 is sold out all over the universe. Getting impatient here.

you need a combo of CPU too. Its not that simple as a videocard and then done. the main board CPU is continually being a main part of it to handle high quality resolution models in 4k these days. think i5 4core4threads minimum for like 4-6 years ago…these days you should think 8 core 8 thread minimum.
Nvidia vcards i figure are not so much for gaming but for producers for rendering things. but don’t quote me on that I just think the extra GPUs on Nvidia cards tend to speak to dynamic particle physics.

If you want a benchmark, look for RDR2 max settings and see what configuration those are. IMHO my next upgrade should cater to at least being able to handle what RDR2 on PC can do at 4k because thats really the most out there model even Rockstar games isn’t letting it’s PS5 version go that far.

Sorry but very new to this. Looks like this processor is 10 core 20 threads. I asked the guy at the pc store what will make me the best predator against op FT and he built me a list of components. Can I run cheaper gpus for now though? While I wait for something high end?
