So, there’s a lot of stuff in this game I like, and some that I don’t like. So, I wanted to put a small list together to change certain parts of the game to improve those areas!
- Long claims and Stealth kills
AFAIK Long claims and stealth kills give you nothing but bragging rights. You don’t get any extra exp or VT, but you give the FT member a sick af kill animation.
Personally, I’d like two changes here:
An exp boost, like 500 or 1k bonus exp per LK or SK, and a VT boost, 250 or 500 per LK and SK.
This would hopefully incentivise more Predators to perform long claims and stealth kills and push them away from quick claims 2 mins into the match.
- Parrying.
In before “Aw shit, here we go again” meme drop, ha!
Parrying is a big point of contention, and it’s like marmite. You love it or you hate it…sometimes. It stops Preds from being able to melee rush, but it also allows FT members to sometimes 1v1 preds with little consequence.
Couple of things I’d do to balance this out a bit more:
Make the heavy attack a non-parrying attack. It’s parry window is super long and it’s very low effort to pull off a parry with this. You literally just mash heavy melee and you basically parry every attack.
Give parrying a cooldown. What I mean by this is make it so when you parry an attack, an organge bar fills the stamina bar and empties out after 1-2 seconds. Whilst the orange is still visible, you are unable to parry any attacks, or perform any melee attacks, until the cooldown has ended. Once it has, you can perform another parry and melee as normal. If you’re with teammates, you’ll only need the one or two parries to make a pred lose all their health, so I think this would be fair, plus it would stop the 1v1 melee wreck fest preds sometimes go against.
- Reinforcements
“Ah shit, here we go again…again”
Personally, I love reinforcements. Chance for more kills? Sign me up! Got killed 2 mins into the match cos the 3 man scout squad left your support ass behind? Back into the fight!
However, the reinforcement is a little…well wild. You just kinda zoop back by the radio and bing bong here I am.
A change I would like is one I’ve seen suggested around this forum a bit. Make the new reinforcements drop in via chopper at a random spawn point, rather than phasing in by the radio.
This stops 2 things. 1) Preds using traps to instantly kill fireteam members who have just spawned back in and 2) It makes it easier for the Pred to go against the last FT member, who just clutched their team back.
It’s definitely an iffy thing to try and balance, and I am fine with the teleportation tech being used to get them to the radio instantly, however if there was a change, I would like it to be this.
And that’s about it! Anyone agree, disagree? I’d like to see some discussion on what people think of these ideas and how they’d affect games going forward if they were implemented.
