That sounds about right I agree but cuhz of the preds prowess on the field reinforcements should stay but at some degree I don’t know how to explain
A couple of things, I noticed (pc player) and would like to address and have a healthy discussion about
I hate to say get good but… there are instances where ft carry tons of med packs with little openings on short missions. And others where ft just outmatch or lower graphic settings for easier spots…
You don’t need berserker to defeat OP FTs. Everyone makes mistakes. Just harass them enough and have patience. Guess who wins in a situation when one rushes blindly and the other is patient and calculated.
I agree with all your other points.
Like I said, these mechanics in my opinion will annoy me even if I would have been rank 100 with 10k hours under my belt.
Because there is nothing you can do about them to avoid them.
Nicely said @Big_T-Rekts. Good Observations.
I personally think the Parry System is a good Option: not all Players use it. And if you have a Predator who is good with the Net Gun, you can easily counter Parry Happy Fireteams as long as you bide your Shots (it’s very easy to spend all of your Ammo).
But Middle Ground wise?? I think a successful Parry should take about 15% Stamina. A failed Parry should take perhaps 5% Health and 20% Stamina. That way, you can’t abuse it since you’re eventually going to retreat and be Punished if you’re going at it solo.
If anyone is familiar with the Original Tekken Tag Tournament from the Arcades back in '99, we had a Reversal System for Opponents who spammed the same Attack repeatedly. But if you had a Player who could see a Reversal coming, you could perform a Chicken knocking them out of a Reversal. Long story short, a similar system for the Predator would be pretty cool.
Lastly, Spotting should be a little harder only if the Predator is Cloaked. In the reverse, going into a Cloak should negate the Spot. Perhaps reducing it’s efficiency or canceling it outright??
Just brainstorming here…
I agree with this too I ussaly am patient but if the team looks dumb and doesn’t know what team work is I ussaly just end it quickly other wise I’ll take shots slowly from afar with my unlimited cloak and sit bacc and watch them look in the trees but have no clue then rush them when the heli comes
The last person alive is usually makes the dumbest decisions. I tend to give a second chance. Let him reinforce the team back and the scrub usually sits under buildings or pipes waiting for the match to end, wasting everyone’s time. Or simply tries to gun me down without seeing a stain of blood on me.
Hate it when the match is about to be over in 5 minutes with those “good high leveled teams”.
Yea that sound awesome, or indeed have the knife break but add some backup knifes on the map I dunno?
Its hard because I have had predators against me where we steamrolled it, we have had predators who just ran in wiped everyone off the floor with melee and then collected the skulls and was done with it.
Even had 1 who taunted me when I was the last fireteam guy alive and he had to down me 4 times or so before wiping the rest of the team because they just ran off or ignored our spots.
But even as fireteam member I could just spam spot the predator which I thought is silly.
Just as I played some more predator tonight, I have teams who basicly were able to bully me away then as I healed they completed the objective and escaped or 1 time I caught and killed the team before they could be extracted (with the scout pred even) and the last team basicly 1 guy climbed the roof and parried all my attacks with ease.
Not to say I have a match where the team just ran off and I could pick them off 1 by 1, ofcourse people who team up together should be harder, but I atleast would like to have a chance and I really felt bullied
I do see a distinct difference playstyle wise with ps4 players and pc players, feels like pc players maybe have more easier spotting tools by using macro’s or whatnot? not sure.
But I do agree with the parry system needs to be adjusted, the spotting if its just the yellow eye marker, would make a world of difference.
or even do it like this: You can be spotted if you are uncloaked or caught uncloaked, then show up red without a certain distance around the fireteam so you have to retreat abit further, find a new location or ambush route.
Same with being killed you have to watch the fireteam run around your body as if you are part of their team/group, instead you should just be able to go to the end screen collect your exp and leave.
I am with you. I am a Predator Main and I have a pretty good record now (level 100 too). I win far more often than I lose but it took a while to get there. That being said I do agree with you. I think these adjustments should be made because it was pretty frustrating being the Predator for the first 45 levels or so. It is a learning curve for sure but it doesn’t need to be quite so steep. I think it’s a little backwards that a mediocre fire team can kill a mediocre Predator with relative ease. Spotting can get ridiculous and Fire Team members chasing me around with knives and me - the 7 foot plus alien - needing to jump around to avoid being stabbed to death is stupid. Should definitely be the other way around.
Yea I think if they made it so, that when you Que lets say rank 1 - 10, it searches people around that level
10-20 etc etc, that way you wont run into a fully loaded out fireteam at rank 20 (like I’ve said I had teams with the best sniper and minigun against me)
Or make weapons bound to certain classes as I mentioned above, for example:
Assault gets to use the LMG and/or minigun
Scout gets to use the snipers etc.
Support: Shotgun and SMG secondary
Or even make certain items/perks for certain classes
Because in the end of the day its 4 vs 1 and really coördinated teams and pre-made teams will be a challenge.
That way you have to decide if the risk of using a scout fireteam member who has lower health etc.
Because once you for example unlock the Support you can just rock a high hp character, with insane weapons, (best sniper, Assault rifle and the cherry ontop the minigun as a secondary?)
To be honest the minigun should be a primary and they maybe should add weight limits or carry limits to weapons too for an example:
You take the minigun your secondary has to be a handgun (Risk vs reward)
You are a scout, you take the sniper, but only able to wear the handgun (that way you are a lower health character that is build to deal damage, but you have to consider finding high ground or a spot because you are squishier)
The direct spot should be removed or only be able when the predator gets caught uncloaked for x amount of seconds, not shown behind walls (maybe show the predator for x amount of seconds on the radar instead if you get direct spotted) and have the yellow vague spot if hes invisible
There are other smaller issues which belong on the bug list but annoy me also and I place here:
Sometimes you hop out of a tree, the climbs dissapear and you can’t attack swap etc (you have to long
jump with control to free you from the animation lock)
Long jumping near an smaller object and your foot graces the low fence or whatnot (indicator shows you can jump beyond) you just jump up and then back down.
I would like to see a layout of buttons for my keyboard or have the tutorial be expanded a little bit more; like I said to this day on Keyboard I have no clue how to open up the voice wheel for predator (Fireteam its left control, but thats crouch for predator) and I would like to be able to keybind my keys to be more optimal for me.
Also why can you only report people before the match? but not after (or is this possible and I haven’t figured it out yet?) because to me it looks silly to be able to report people for griefing, cheating etc before you even played against them (not really ran into the same players yet) it would look more logic if you can report someone for maybe an offensive name (had a few pop up) at the starting lobby and after that you can report someone if you think they are hacking, or been griefing, abussive etc.
Also I think they might need to add a prestige option: Because after you got to level 100 what else is there to do? (to play games maybe farm all the cosmetics) that way you can also divide the player base to 1-10 pool, 10-20 pool, etc that way people will always be in or around people of the same “skill” level and pool (the numbers are just for example you can change them around to more suitable brackets)
As I mentioned before after you died and they killed you and disarmed your wrist bomb, you should just be able to go the end screen scoreboard, collect your reward and re-que for a new game, I don’t want to sit around and watch the fireteam be d*cks and t-bag my body, knifing eachother because of no friendly fire and wait till they collected my body (or maybe it an possible if you have seen the cutscene already at the end)
So you won 1 game and see you roar and holding the skull (or the rare last kill on dutch and his trophy claim) you can just skip it
So they escaped - Seen it once, you can skip
So they killed you , they desecrated your body and hauled it off - you can skip
go to the end scoreboard get your exp and rewards for leveling up.
Alot of other games with similair play style or game layout allow it, so why not predator Hunting grounds.
Once again I’m not saying I have to win all my games as predator, but these mechanics like the parry and the spotting will be annoying even at higher levels I reckon especially against teams that have some more expierence on their belt, they will learn the ins and outs with those mechanics to just dominate games, instead of using it as a tool.
These are just idea’s that maybe make the game more replayable, playable for long long time, if not forever. out of love for the game.
