A couple of things, I noticed (pc player) and would like to address and have a healthy discussion about

Hey people and Illfonic (hope you read this)

I just started playing predator and love the game, but some things I’ve noticed and got on my nerves and should be atleast put in the spotlight so we can tweak it and make the game more enjoyable. (this is predator mainly)

  1. First thing I’ve noticed is the level difference when matchmaking; I guess this is duo to players active? but some games I’m against newer players and just run over them as Predator and sometimes I’m against level 60+ with miniguns mowing me down easily. Think if we can get some form of “level range” players it would be nice, I’m level 26 currently so I don’t own the Berserker freight train, nor do I own the tools to isolate the fire time (other then with the net which is easily dodged), yes I can just spam fireteam and farm exp like that ,but how am I to learn to become a real predator if I have to unlock it through Fireteam play?

  2. Spotting: Its too easy, especially for pc players, I’ve had FT with 3 pc players in them, spotting me before I even entered their Area, with soundcards and the lot its really easy to already hear the predator (yes I played Fireteam a couple of times aswell and I heard the predator really easily with my headset and sound), like many said before make it just the eye not the spotting of the predator, as soon as I put my right toe in and my left toe aswell. And I don’t mind 1 spot, no I get spam spotted; which makes it playing a real jungle hunter hardly doable. I had a fireteam with a sniper, (4 pc players) basicly waiting for me spotting me and sniping me down easily)

  3. Parry; either remove this or make it so there is a cooldown on it as the predator’s strenght would easily shatter the knife if not hurt alot on the arm, the predator is made to hunt big prey, they hunt Xenomorphs as sport, so a human shouldn’t be able to parry the predator so often atleast. I literly have Fireteams hunting me, with knifes because Parrying is so strong. this can be fixed, by having the predator wreck the knife (so its more of a last effort to survive 1 attack) the predator’s weapon is space steel so it should easily break or cut the humans knives (dutch knife can survive 2 or 3 hits as its an old predator blade)

  4. A small thing: When I get killed as predator, just give me the option to leave the match, I don’t want to sit around watching how the Fireteam is T-bagging my body and kniving npc and eachother. Would just be nice to leave and get the exp and find a new game

  5. Can we get the Keyboard key-layout, because to this day I have no clue how to access the predator’s voice module so I can mimic FT voices. (or a kind soul that would explain to me which button it is, because I haven’t found it ingame, nor on the internet xD)

  6. Jumping, with the long jump, by a wall or fence, makes me leap up but then just land on the spot. Sometimes I can’t jump anymore after jumping out of a tree.

So to summarize; I’ve noticed pc players have it really easy as fireteam, not sure if its macros that helps them or something else, but for being a badass predator I don’t feel like 1, people don’t really fear the predator, but just wait him out and easily take him out, as Hunter especially, I literly have had people just hunt me down on a roof with a knife, just by parrying me none stop and knifing me.

I know this will be flamed to death, but I do appreciate the people who give constructive critisme.

Thank you.

I agree with this list even tho I’m not a lower lvl I’ve been player since it came out and am lvl 100 with a crazy zerk build and rarely loose. However my lil brother started playin and has the same ideas and problems I really hope Illfonic see this 🤝

People keep making this argument about strength when it comes to parrying, but that’s not how it works in real life, a 140 pound guy can parry a 250 pound one. It’s about deflection and leading, not about stopping the swing dead.

Also the argument about ‘space metal’ is a bit trite, as don’t you think someone who hunts Predators would use their metal to make their own weapons. Personally I run around with a bright pink gutter that I assume to be made of the same material we collect during matches, Veritanium.

Lastly the number of players that would straight up quit if they had no way to push the Predator off would surely out number the people who think the mechanic should be scrapped.

I thought it was Y for voice mimic but don’t quote me on that. You can also go into keybindings and go under custom and it’ll show y ok I what does what.

Also I too believe the predator shouldn’t have to wait around after he dies.

Yes you can parry a 250 pound person, but if the 250 hits you you will be knocked down, unless he knows how to turn the momentum against the person (which is more of a martial art move).

The fireteam, isn’t running around with weapons ready to hunt the predator but send there to do their mission, if you listen they actually get called out if they engage the predator and they act suprised.

I don’t say Fireteams have to always lose; but they atleast need to set traps or work unconventionally instead of being able to bluntly hunt the predator.

Right now I don’t feel like a threat as a predator, there has to be something changed either make the predator completely invisible in cloak or make him make less noise when running/ or make him less noisy with the clicks and growls.

They can push the predator off by focus firing him, he can’t down 4 or even 3 people if they just blast him from all angles, but right now even from range I ain’t no threat to some players (mainly pc players).
The spotting is too easy and able to be spammed, I had 1 team with the best sniper as soon as he saw a glimpse or I just soared from branch to branch I got perma spotted and he hit every show aslong as he could see me.
I know these guys made friday the 13th so they know how to make a fearful killer, that FireTeam should respect and fear, not just laugh and able to kill with parry spam and a knife. No matter the colour.

And about the keybindings, I can’t see the keyboard ones in the options nor adjust them, I kinda feel like they ported the game straight from the PS4.

Ft premade op lul

Its possible to beat ft pc premades. Or 3 mans you have to play smart.

Yes playing smart I get, but I had a team that basicly spotted me as soon as they caught a glimpse of me, knew which direction I came from (which is easy with all the sound software pc can provide) perma spotted me, sniped me down without missing a single shot, even tho I was moving constantly. The way you stand still on a rock or cravish, I do too but I get spam spotted.

Maybe I am playing wrongly as a beginner player, but as a Rank 26 (currently was 17 as I started the evening) I go against FT with the best sniper (I believe you get that on a higher rank then I am) and Miniguns.

Aswell as I don’t have access too the gear setup you are rocking right now.

Problem with it is, that it FEELS like you need the berserker Predator, to atleast have a chance against a well organized Fireteam.

Even as the Hunter who has 3 bars on every one of his stats, I get burned down so easily the scout is even squishier and a ranged predator.

Like I said I don’t do this because I am a predator main and want to win 24/7, just want to make the game enjoyable on all fronts for mostly everyone (sadly there will always be complain and nothing is perfect)

Im way beyond 100. Trick is keep them running. Know there postioning and strike. One failed down can cost you game. Reason why i won those is because they were saving their syringes.

Man I get your frustration but you’re going to need to play a bit longer and get a bit more experience. I’m not criticizing, your opinions are valid but some of them are going to change.

Look, if you feel like you get run around the map or like they always seem to know where to look, it’s mostly just map knowledge. Most players can’t really tell you why they looked to a specific spot or got lined up on a great angle, a previous experience has taught them were to expect attack from or what angle most Preds are going to attack from.

Nice talking with you, sorry if my first post read as dismissive.

Thats alright, I don’t mind a decent discussion.

And I know I will need more expierence, I get map expierence just as I see in YUPPERS videos he knows the med kits etc.

But the constant spotting and able to parry every attack, aswell as the easily side stepping of the plasma shot from the shoulder canon, I can see people getting fed up and leaving the game all together.

Some things are indeed expierence bound, but other mechanics could just be pure annoyance no matter how wel expierenced you are, what if you played 6k hours and you can still be beaten by someone just spamming parry and deflecting all your blows.

Maybe it was the time; its was later in the evening on my stream (11 o clock central european time+2) maybe the more elite players are playing? But I felt so weak.

I don’t mind losing, but I do mind losing without even standing a chance.

Just wanted to bring them up and maybe brainstorm some idea’s so the Devs see it and maybe pick up some ideas.

I love the game, even tho I didn’t play it at the beta (missed out on the reminder sadly)

Fighting coradanated teams will always be a learning experience hard or simple you as a lower player doesn’t affect a lot me I ussaly use an elder sword and sometimes a net even as a hunter u probably have all that unlocked u just gotta be smart about it and realize the threat of the ft after a lil more gameplay you’ll be wipin teams it takes time I don’t know how u play but I agree with a lot of your points and for a tip zig zag while running and do random sword attacks and if it’s a harder team use your wrist blades and net gun u don’t even half to switch have good hunting

At first try patience. Just try to survive to the helo and record your games you will see openings. Those are recent vids and its a lot harder to land bow snipes on z good ft. Disc is by far superior to bow and plasma and i try not to spam it. I can wipe a whole team just hiding and throwing disc. When i notice pc ft coming out to engage i already have dusc ready for there offense. Disc takes practice and time but it came to me naturally playing flight sims. Yes its wierd but i invert play disc. Knock a ft member down walk away and down another. Its a domino effect… once the chain breaks vs me they lose most of the time. Notice i dont pick scout or berserker… hunter is best class. I win with scout too but it sucks vs sniper fire vs coordinated csgo snipers

I agree but zerk does have his moments if you know how to play em right

Your right any pred can win and above are my opinions with 4 to 5 games a day as pred since release.

I do have them unlocked and I welcome the tips.

Tho I didn’t intent to turn this in a I need tips post, but more for some issues I ran into too.

The spotting thing, the parry spam, those were just abit silly in my eyes, because it removes the entire predator’s gimmic in my opinion.
I had a support FT guy in my last match who just took so many hits, its ridiculous.

Maybe they should give different roles to FT so they have to be more tactical for example:
Support is a medical class - so when FT has to analyze some samples hes the one who has the skills to do so.

Just of the top of my head.

as I said Fire-team is send to the jungle to do their mission, the predator is hunting there because of the warlords/pmc’s, Fireteam shouldn’t be prepared for the predator (they shouldn’t be geared to hunt predators, but for a jungle mission)
Or am I wrong here? did the Olwn or whatever they are called send out the fire-team to deal with the predator? (because of the perks)

Like the first movie of predator, their team was just at the wrong place at the wrong time; its because dutch his survival skills he survives the predator, by setting traps etc. Maybe they could do something like that, make it more pve/pvp?

Just spitballin’ some potential idea’s, I’ve seen other good idea’s for the spotting for example only have vague spots with the yellow eye, just making it so you can say “hey I saw the predator at that location, be on your guard he is around” and the use of your radar. Which I liked.

Its just silly you can perfectly spot a camo’d up predator with red outline seeing it through walls, fences etc.

Or like I said you can Parry but you get knocked down, a well coördinated team will respond to their comrade and focus fire or scare off the predator as the knocked down Fire-team member has a chance to get up and regroup etc.

The spotting is crazy and is stupid they should jus point inna direction so ppl know not highlight him and I also agree that the fireteam is not there to fight a pred their not even supposed to know the preds there but he his they should focus on the mission not the pred I’ve seen some teams who jus hunt the pred and a lot of fire team members don’t furfill roles to help their team they equip them selves with the best stuff only to kick the shit outta the pred lmao there needs to be more realisticness in my opinion everytime I bring it up it seems to much in my head but in reality if I was hit by a thrown spear I should be instantly killed not near downed also I do agree with a lot of your ideas and also jus thought u needed help as pred my bad for assuming and for the reinforcements I think they can’t pick the same class if they were killed they should Half to pick another class cuhz the same ppl shouldn’t be able to come bacc to life right now I’m just listing ideas on what I would like and think would work more realistic lmao

Combistick hs is an instadown with downrange
Disc does 125 dmg
Bow is like 50 to75 hs 113
Plasma is 150 with downrange
All my pc fireteam builds usually are downrange and less bullet penetration. That 5 percent adds up over a long match.
Netgun is ok but traps are better

Bow/disc
Net/gun disc/ traps
Combi/ netgun w/ quick weapon swap perk

I found vs ft members that chase traps heavily punish them

Ranged weapons are crazy damn

Right they could even do certain perks or passives for each class:

Have a Dutch in your team?: You get some more knowledge on the predator seeing as he defeated one.

Have a Support: He can bring Ammo and carry the LMG and/or the minigun

have a Scout: He can spot further away because of his sniper scope (For example none scouts can see 10 yards ahead, scout can see 20 or 25 yards ahead and maybe spot the predator shimmer earlier that way and put the yellow eye marker saying he saw the predator in that vicinity)

Assault has the AR and brings something to the table (can’t think of anything)

Medic class (Brings the healing or can hand out the syringes)

1 hit kills shouldn’t happen, getting downed is ok, so you have a chance to be picked up again. if the reinforcement call is removed maybe make it so the predator has to down x times before he can rip out your skull to keep you from getting killed from the start? But you do still bleed out, if your team is selfish and just leave you behind.

But indeed maybe remove the calling in reinforcements: makes people play with more caution and fear the predator a little more or respect him.
