So, finally posting here. I’ve been playing since launch, which isn’t saying too much I suppose, but from what I’ve seen, heard, and played, many seem to agree the Predator’s too weak and needs a buff or something.
I had a “different” idea, hence the title. A buff can work, sure sure, but what if, and hear me out here, we nerfed the Fireteam indirectly?
Like, for example, there’s a Perk that allows a Fireteam member to take reduced damage from the AI. Thing is, they don’t hit very hard to begin with unless a bunch focus fire someone, which rarely happens because…well people can just run up and melee or shotgun them. So, as a suggestion, what if the AI did more damage? I’m not saying make one capable of 1v4ing a team, like how Elites in Halo can on Legendary, but at the very least, increase their damage so a shot from them can’t readily be ignored. To where, sometimes, it’ll force the Fireteam to prioritize AI units over the Predator as they’re everywhere and hitting hard enough to really scare players.
Another idea I have, allow “friendly fire”, so to speak; players take reduced damage from one another, like Left 4 Dead. From the games I’ve played, players will run around shooting whatever they can and, often, shooting one another without any repercussions due to the lack of friendly fire. Adding this would force them to…y’know…not take a shot that’ll pass through a friend, unless they want to accidentally down a teammate or even potentially kill them. Will this promote trolling? Perhaps; it’s why I said reduced. If it was set to full damage then what’s stopping someone with a minigun from lighting his team up for the fun of it?
I had other thoughts, but work drained me and so I’m just defusing. Still, what do you all think of these ideas? Shit, or decent?
