a few changes( i think ) the predator needs to remain viable

now im only lvl 88, without double xp, i play both fireteam(mostly in 3-4 man premades) and when they arent around i play predator exclusively(I also have Mercenary and Experienced Hunter trophies).

-predator needs more variation in loadout customization, when in the lobby there are designations for computer, wrist blades, cloak, and vision, i feel there should be variants to these IE: advanced targeting wrist computer, allowing the predator to lock on with SD and PC(while in vision mode)but lose the ability to self destruct: wrist mounted PC but lose the wrist blades: advanced cloaking removes the energy cost but gives the visibility of the current cloaking and buff the current cloaking: vision mode variant to give alternative vision that could see through mud but remove thermal vision(makes the fireteam wonder if they should mud or not(can be combined with advanced targeting to only lock on to mudded targets))

-predator ranged damage needs a boost across the board, with the exclusion of a full charged PC( between making yourself vunerable/corner camping and the 4 second charge i feel this one shot(when landed directly) is about the best option we have(unless they have a sniper)), the bow damage needs increased at range(ive play tested 110 damage around 15 meters or less and only 65 damage beyond that on headshots), the SD has the potential to one shot non support, but the latency and situational requirements needed to land a headshot with the SD make it almost unusable.

-the net gun NEEDS a knockback(horizontally or vertically depending on the angle fired) and less interaction with the environment, the net is razor sharp, it shouldnt explode on foliage if should soar through it like a hot knife through butter

-war club needs to stun or knockback fireteam members(at least give them ONE weapon that can counter the parry spam)(edit-the club should stun on a hit or knockback with reduced damage on a parry, to give the FT member a brief respite for the successful parry)

-the predator does NOT need more heals, he needs more baseline survivability, we should be spending less time healing and more time prepping or engaging, the increased heal perk should be baseline healing speed, with the perk adding to that.

-predator needs to be able to recollect unused traps and any motion detectors/audio decoys we throw out(assuming the fireteam didnt destroy them)

-all predator classes need more stamina, and the scout should have a baseline reduction in stamina costs(it is a scout after all) while the berserker has an increase(its strenuous heaving that massive frame around), hunter would be middle ground on stamina use.

-predator audio cues need reduced massively, they shouldnt hear footsteps or the clicking unless im within 3-5 meters of them, not 80 meters away, and walking slowly should remove all footstep audio, outside of a 1-2 meter range, the sounds of the trees while you move through them is great, though i think the audible range needs a slight reduction, the fireteam should be relying on seeing branches move and watching for falling leaves to spot the predator, not by hearing he is coming from 80 meters in that direction.

-the cloak needs fixed, at long ranges it renders as a grey figure, at mid range it doesnt refract whats behind from the point of view only whats around, which makes spotting incredibly easy, close range is the only range i feel it renders properly, and thats the range you dont really need it since melee removes cloak.

-parry system needs a tweek, i understand the point of needing a hard counter to a pred who just wants to charge in, which is why i didnt say removed or reworked, a parry should completely drain the FT members stamina and inhibit regeneration for a few seconds(5-10)(would make the fireteam less inclined to all rush with knives since they could all trigger the same parry and lose the opportunity to capitalize on the opening and therefore leaving themselves vunerable to melee for the next 10-15 seconds while they wait for stamina to recover)

-the spotting system needs a tweek, everyone should be able to alert the FT of a location of interest, but being able to highlight a cloaked predator is a bit much, uncloak, sure, as long as cloaking removes it(would make the predator more mindful of energy consumption, as a spot while overloaded would be a terrible position to be in) that being said, make it so only scout or recon can highlight the predator, and increase the duration of the spot(forcing more tactical gameplay in regards to energy comsumption)

-make dithered lenses baseline, and increase it from there with the perk
-or
-make the perk visability baseline and make dithered lenses completely(or nearly) remove the laser while in vision mode(since the eyes glow in vision mode it would still be possible to locate a pred charging the cannon, only more difficult)

-edit- I also feel the FT shouldnt be able to mud up at the start, the players know a pred is there, but the fireteam does not, make it so the FT can only mud after the first trophy is claimed, because until they engage the predator, they canonical dont know he is there

-edit- second wind needs a massive improvement, FT can literally run you down while in it

and thats about it, in my humble opinion, there are many other tweeks or changes, but these would ensure diversity in predator play and give viable options to range oriented predators in what can only be described as a berserker meta

that’s some excellent feedback, agree with all of it. Especially regarding the cloak and auto tracking for the P.C

one thing i’ll add regarding the net gun is, it shouldn’t be ‘tap to escape’

and here’s why…

Some players can naturally spam buttons faster than others, and I’ve seen people break out of nets within a second or two. Which is unbalanced and unfair

The way it SHOULD be is like the bear traps, holding the button down for a set period of time

this way, everyone who’s caught remains in the net for the same amount of time, always

lastly, the trapper perk needs to extend trapped time abit longer, theres no noticeable difference and therefore it feels like a worthless perk atm

I’ve been playing a bit with the net gun lately, it seems a lot of people havent realized you can weave net gun and plasma pistol shots between wrist blade swings, greatly increasing their effectiveness, but yes when the net lands it’s a little underwhelming, (as a hunter)I had a perch vs 3 FT members, I netted one member, dropped and immediately netted the 2nd(with trapper perk mind you) and before I could get two swings in the last member the other 2 had broken out and I was in second wind.

Increased duration when it pins them, and a knockback to help pin would make the weapon viable for ambush

I stopped right at the war club part BECAUSE THATS BRILLIANT. So so true. It would instantly flip the weapon from being a joke to something you see now and then. If it’s a hard hitting, but slow swinging weapon, that can’t be parried. You would actually get to see a mix of weapons from predators at that point.

A Berserker with a War Club should be the most terrifying thing to have come running at you
