Would it be possible at all for you guys to ask the devs why they think our current state of balance, is fine?

…kinda trying to figure this one out myself. I think just shot the scales a little further to FT side.
I just wanna know why, directly from illfonic.
If at least to get a sense of direction for the future. I mean maybe the damage shift is in prep for a multi pred mode or something?
Usually the biggest question I tend to look for an answer too is for a game what is the design philosophy this usually includes the reasoning behind many decisions that define what certain aspects of the game are such as
Should the game be arcady or tactical
Should it be stat based or skill bases
Should melee be a priority or should ranged play and how do the 2 balance out each other
How should the predator feel
How should the humans feel
Is the ai intended to be a primary threat or secondary threat
Etc etc
Big question is what is balance mean to you? What perspective are you drawing upon? Who do you want to win MOST games? Otherwise, the point of this game is unbalancedness so that you can rebalance based on whatever you have to work with(gears and perks, class,etc).
It begs the question how much hand holding you want from illfonics dev team. Otherwise, using the same old strategy in your loadout will not give you the balance you want.
I think @Fire you’re asking a big open question for which this game is not designed to answer for you but is designed for you to create the game you want for yourself, for other FT team mates, or how you want to play Predator.
I think most understood this from day 1. However there is a strange minority class of ppl who either want to contantly bring it up because its a hot topic, or that its probably the most frustrating aspect of this game because it requires TIME(i’m looking at newbies here).
Time is required to change LOADOUTS and time is required to get a feel for how ppl are generally playing. There usually is a formula to work with. I personally, feel I have found a few solutions to the FT equation but it is different for PC people and PS alike.
That’s what I wanna know, but I want to know illfonics reasons. Most devs tell you why.
I kind of understand what you’re saying, but I ask this more for preds who are really struggling now.
I can adapt.
I can find ways to win.
But right now ft is so braindead that I cant come up with a reason as to why.
Why does pred have to try so hard, but ft doesnt?
Preds playing chess while ft is playing connect four or tic tac toe.
But more than anything, I would like to just know illfonics thoughts on the balance and mechanics of the game.
I’d love to know what they’re going for and what they want.

I think predator should, just because it’s a predator game, but that’s just a feeling.

Because of match making. We are obviously getting alot of newbie ppl. and if you’re viewing them playing the match from the 3rd person perspective, you can tell why. You just need to look how they are playing and chances are its their lack of control of the controls, A.D.D. moments, not knowing what priorities are, armed with the wrong weapon for close encounters…etc.etc…its not a big issue. We kind of understood this from day 1.
Is this about an official statement of how to play the game? Do you want a strategy guide? If so ask for one!
What you’re asking for, i understand, its really granular.
And we demanded an answer like this through buffs and nerfs but thats going no where.
Think bigger and demand something more and we can be all behind it.

2 of the biggest issues, IMHO: 15 minute queue times for pred and reinforcements for ft. Get rid of both and you’ll have happier players. Players shouldn’t have to wait so long for matches ( Illfonic are well aware) and they also shouldn’t have to kill 7 ft. Which is, essentially, what reinforce does. Damage output is fine, IMHO.
I know a lot of ppl hate it, but I still don’t mind reinforcement.
They just needed to make ft funner and cooler to play. And that doesn’t Mean they Have to be as strong as they are now.

Nah, when you’re dead you’re dead. They can already revive, and that’s enough. Make ft worth more xp, buff health if you want. Reinforce doesn’t even make sense. As a mechanic, I suppose it keeps players from dropping when they die. But who cares? Get rid of reinforce. When you die, you collect your XP and out you go, unless you want to spectate for some reason.
Let me ask u a question then if reinforcment was removed would u be ok with ft to either have 2x as many hp related restorative items or have passive hp regeneration at let’s say 5hp every 6 seconds as increasing raw hp would require gun dmg to be lower and probably other balance issues
As without reinforcment since then games would be considerably shorter there must be something to allow ft to have more hp
I think ft already have TONS of options with the self heals, health kits and revives. Half the matches we don’t even get reinforced, and it’s fine. I play mostly ft (because pred queue is fuckin ridonkulous) and I say get rid of reinforce.
