What was my surprise that the spear does not kill the target during its throwing. It feels like I’m throwing bamboo sticks at people.
A Spear throw does not kill players.
I think a headshots will down them, but yeah, it doesnt do more than about 75% damage if its a body hit. Havent really bothered with it because all i fight seems to be bunnies.
Huh good to know need to change the title and description of one of my clips because it was a headshot with combi throw not chest.
I’ve experienced this as well. I got a confirmed head-shot with the Combi on an FT as she was mudding up and facing me and she didn’t drop. I was at medium-long range, so I don’t know if there’s some kind of damage drop-off but yeah, I felt kinda cheated by that. I mean…if a spear to the head doesn’t do it…
The bow can have the same problem. I’ve gotten charged headshots that didn’t kill. Again, maybe a drop-off problem.
Think 40 of my levels are made by playing the Pred, i can safely say…Cannon is the best ranged, nothing else matters. If you can learn to hide the laser well untill full charge and use whipshots, you can do really well and it will be your best damage output, as far as ranged weapons is concerned. Ive stopped using melee completely also, i get melted way too fast and i go into second wind its over, i cant escape to heal.

I don’t even know, it’s just unpleasant for me to play as a predator. It’s just hardcore.
The bow I believe is a drop off problem and the arc is kinda difficult to compensate for as it is hard for pred to see exactly where it’s hitting depending how far away but I know I’ve gotten a charge headshot on a sniper once while he was busy with npcs and it knocked him down.
I have started using the bow it is pretty decent for not getting tracked too easily the damage when charged is decent the hard part is hitting those headshots and hitting moving targets but that’s pretty standard hence why it takes practice, and that’s one of my issues with the plasma caster is not getting spotted any advice for charging it and getting accurate shots/knowing when the best time to aim it when charged is?
The bow gives you away with a red light, i have no idea why that is even a thing, but it is, so i was turned off by it becaue of how hard it is to hit with. Might be good with practice, but im a plasma cannon addict.
First question, are you on PC? Not tried PS4 so ill assume its alittle trickier there, could be wrong, some crazy good players with the gamepads, im useless with it.
It basicly comes down to seeing your target, aiming your laser at your feet and start charging, keeping them in view. When it starts to shake, quickly aim at them and hold till it goes off by itself. Max damage, downs 1 person and does great AOE damage if you miss. Rinse repeat, key is to never start aiming at them becasue they see the laser.
It becomes second nature when you do it a few times, and its glorious…until you meet the Avengers.

I play on ps4 and I have managed to bow snipe an ft sniper once when they were busy with npcs(I was also a decent distance away) that’s one of the key things is hitting them when a ft member is distracted whether it’s mudding up or a sniper trying to fight off infantry
