Me and some other friends have been documenting bugs on this game for a while. Our main focus is to be able to replicate them so we can eventually share it with the dev team for fixing. I, as an avid troubleshooter, have focussed on finding workarounds to either avoid them or correct them.
One of those bugs I consider game breaking and very annoying to deal with; the no fire bug.
The bug is triggered by using the quick melee and weapon switch buttons either at the same time or very fast. You end up in a state where you can’t shoot or knife. To get out of the bug you need to change your weapon using the weapon wheel.
The solution to the bug is too slow for me, inconvenient, and the bug happens so often that I needed another solution.
Enter the Macro Captain.
Now I know how y’all feel about macros when they give an “unfair” advantage.
But I’m curious what are your thoughts when they are used for bug corrections.
My workaround involved introducing an actual time delay (200ms) between when the key is pressed and when the command is actually sent to the game. It really sucks because now you have to deal with a “laggy” weapon switch, but at least you are no longer left with the inability to shoot or defend yourself after a melee encounter.
Do you still think (in such cases) is cheating? Do you think it provides an “unfair advantage”? Do you think bugs are there to either be dealt with or abused and is up to the devs to fix them?
