I call these two elements (red square and footprint) together as tracking.
My question about this tracking is, has there been any change in the way these are removed?
I thought both of them could be removed by mud up, but it seems like that’s not the case anymore.
About red squares and footprints
They’re not removed entirely. Need to be closer for red square and less footprints when muded up
Foot prints can be removed by mudding up unless the predator is using observant. Also, the Ice Cold perk or the OWLF Operative class will have foot prints that are hard to see and disappear quickly.
As for the red square, it seems a bit inconsistent. IMO, the best thing to do is to mud up AND try to break line-of-sight.
In other words…
Do the red squares mean you have to MUD UP before the gauge fills up?
and
Does that mean you need to MUD UP out of sight after the gauge has filled up?
What is the gauge?
I would recommend mudding up FIRST, if you can avoid getting attacked by the predator.
I thought the red square was a gauge because it would fill up as I observed…
yes this.
I don’t think it fills up. The predator marks a target while in thermal vision and if the target is not mudded up.
To get rid of the red mark, the Fireteam player must mud up AND break line of sight.
