About those Owfl files

How the f do you farm them?

I keep finding those but I just can’t catch the system behind a successfull retrievement of them.

Managed to live/die and escape with having one on my inventory, still most of the time it doesn’t add one in my extras.

Anyone figured that mystery already?

I’ve gotten like 9. Found a few as Predator from killing FT, or finding them in buildings. Also have found them as FT, they’re random I don’t even think they are a guaranteed spawnx

I found only 1. I removed it from the corpse of a dead soldier and … she added

It’s not even about finding them, I did quite often but it seems very random to me if it appears in my collection afterwards.

Just now me and a friend found one, I randomly got it collected and he didn’t.

Although he had the number 13 already, which was collected for me.
In this case it could be that you can find collected once again, doesn’t necessarily explain the 100 other cases though…

I picked one up near a mission on Backwater. Predator blew himself up and I didn’t get it afterwards…

You have to escape after the mission to keep the files, if the pred die you will not have it

Figured. Don’t you think that’s bullshit? Clearly, if you survive the explosion, you would extract afterwards lol it’s not like they’d just leave you there

If you didn’t get them it was because there was a glitch that only the first person to pick items up would get the reward. I don’t know if they properly fixed it in this patch.

Things I’ve found:

Found randomly in missions, anywhere V would be found.

FT

  1. If you die you won’t get it
  2. IF the Predator self destructs you won’t get it
  3. If time runs out you won’t get it.
  4. If you extract you will get it… sometimes ( there was a game where 3 of the 4 FT collected the tape and those 3 successfully extracted with the Predator only getting the 1 kill, and the tape was not collected by anyone.)
  5. If you kill the Predator and Claim the body ?

Predators

You can find the tapes or claim them off a FT body.

  1. If you kill all FT you will get it
  2. If one FT member escapes you will not get it
  3. If you self destruct you will not get it
    4.If you get killed you will not get it.

Also worth noting that when found it can be picked up by anyone, Predator included, in that same spot, but there have been times it shows for some players and not others.

From what I can tell…

If someone in the mission picks it up, you’ll be able to pick it up too, but you’ll not get it at the end of the game. Seems like a bug to me, but might be by design.

I also found if I picked one up, then picked up the bars of vert, I would lose the file. Again bug or by design, no idea.
