After Trial Weekend analysis

Okay guys and gals, without too much vitriol and slandering, let’s have an honest assessment and discussion about this weekend.

Why? Because it was meant to be a huge highlight for this game. The Patch coincided with a Free Trial Weekend and this was supposed to be a turning point.

Personally, I didn’t see any new FT players in the matches I entered which was a downer. I was looking forward to meeting new potential Fireteam mains, but everyone’s loadouts indicated they had been playing for a while. A friend of mine said she was unable to take the trial on Sunday because it had ended? This was midday UK time.

I was fortunate enough to have not endured endless crashes and bluescreens, my PS4PRO however sounded like a Boeing 747 taking off the whole time which is actually frustrating.

Playing as FT, I felt no fear, no anxiety whenever the Predator showed up. Toss a ACIG, whip out the PDW, toast it’s ass, job done. I was hoping the Predator would have been buffed to at least give new Predator players a fighting chance. The few new Predators we encountered got totally annihilated the moment they revealed themselves, you could see them panicking and trying to figure out what the hell to do and before they could grasp the situation they were second winded. I doubt they had a great weekend.

By the time Sunday afternoon rolled around, I could barely bring myself to start a match. I had zero enthusiasm, and I felt bad because I love Predator, I love this game and I see it’s potential. I was hyped for the new Patch and the trial weekend, and maybe that’s on me for having too high expectations.

Your experiences? (Try your best to keep the anger to a minimum, thanks).

I saw a good amount amount of new players over the weekend and my fair share of new preds I never ran into any issues

I feel you on Sunday afternoon and later I the evening, it didn’t feel right, on Friday and Saturday I went up against some good FT and some not so good, but as far as when I played FT I can say the same, I did not feel any threat from the pred at all!!. Almost like I was playing a private match just with 3 other people and the pred wasn’t there.(the 24 hour XP was nice but if your starting to play and we all know the best way to level is FT)

I had to skip out on the trial weekend do to the ps4 error unfortunately. That said i feel like the tutorial for the game could be much longer, and the advice the game gives much better.

Perhaps a target range or something similar to practice with the different weapons is in order? (I have wiped whole fireteams and i still cant use the smart disc or netgun worth a damn lol)

As for newbie preds, I would say its hardly uncommon for them to panick when they’re being lit up by FT. There is just a learning curve that takes 30 or so hours to get the hang of mechanically, with some more time spent as FT to learn where all of the objectives are.

I played a few matches on Saturday and was fortunate enough to only get 1 mid-game freeze and 1 blue screen crash. I only played as FT though so I’m not sure if that was a factor or not.

From what I’ve seen on the community FB group, for alot of people this weekend was a complete failure, and for some diehard day 1 players it was the last straw.

I myself am gonna take a break from the game see if any fixes are dropped tomorrow when Dutch is released. If not, I’ll wait until the next free update when the new map/ mode is dropped and see how the game is then.

I’ve been playing since beta and bought every DLC up until now because I love this game and wanna see it do well, but I have sadly lost almost all faith in the devs.

Well, I know the Devs are more Social Media focused so as disheartening as it is to hear those guys (FB community) had a rough time too, the Devs might actually pay attention to them.

Enjoy your break, thanks for the input👍🏼💯

I encountered a lot of new Players over the weekend. The FT weren’t toI bad and for the most part stuck together however the preds I felt bad for because they tried to be stealthy by staying crouched around corners and such and I would just light them up or they’d bum rush right at us and die in seconds.

Everything in the game and tutorial teaches you to be sneaky, stealthy, crouch and stalk…it doesn’t translate over into the actual game though, and perhaps they might want to redo the tutorial to better teach what’s actually needed to survive as Predator… emphasis on survive🤣

Definitely especially with the new damage changes, while I don’t think either side is OP I do think that the damage output of the FT should at least be addressed in the tutorial or the hints or something because any newcomer that tries to go against someone who’s running the PDW-Z with extended mag and Yaujtas bane will get shredded in seconds. Maybe the hint could be “do not blindly rush your prey as they can overcome you quickly, wear them down before the final strike” idk some bullshit like that.

My second game I experienced the ADS combi bug. This has been my only frustrating moment. I haven’t crashed yet and judging by the wait times…the free trial didn’t go so well.

Way too many people are experiencing crashes

While I’m pretty much satisfied by and large this update did not succeed in it’s goal of drawing in new players

The good news is that they can always do another free trial

I dont know why issues like this occur and it may help to alleviate players frustrations by explaining how this even happens.

The key to any relationship is trust. To gain trust you must communicate.

User trust is hanging on by a thread here guys…

No difference, same load times, empty lobbies, apart from I got my first crashes and corrupt data messages and they added a new gun.

Also had a bug where the shout menu stayed up and I wasn’t able to use my health syringe.

I hate that bug, it’s happened a few times recently and you’re just vulnerable to getting killed while trying to break out of it.

This guy is one of my favourite YouTubers, and I respect his opinions alot. He’s a great part of the overall Predator Hunting Grounds community and his videos are always great entertainment, and there’s lots of cool tricks to learn especially when it comes to using the Smartdisc.
His most recent video sums up perfectly everything that is wrong with this game. How PC “deathsquads” can actually claim to be good when using low graphics settings as a crutch is beyond me. The footage in this video clearly demonstrates it’s like two completely different games, Predator player is trying to hide behind foliage and use the environment (you know, how the game is supposed to be played) and these PC players don’t even see those environmental features because they’re cheating;

Video credit to @Thescoutpredmain Thanks for the honest truth. I’ve seen salty PC FTs trying to justify this bullshit and claim we all need to git gud. Having seen the game how it is to them with the graphics exploited, my crossplay will never be switched on.

As for the topic matter, I didn’t really notice any new ppl.
I don’t think too many ppl actually tried it out, but I’m not sure.
