Agreeance to not complain about 2V8 balance

The reason why the devs won’t do a 2V8 mode is because of balance, or at least supposedly

Let’s show them it doesn’t matter

So let’s all agree that whatever the balance is, we won’t complain, because the mode is just being thrown out there for the sake of fun

We can still critisize, but no finger pointing, complaining, or judging about 2V8 balance

If the issue is optimization, cut the intro sequence, and have one chopper appear at a time, after the first one leaves the second chopper comes to pick up the rest.

It’d probably make more sense for 2v8 to be 2 versus 4 versus 4 rather than 8 fireteam members.

So three teams. Predator, Voodoo, and Stargazer. Voodoo drops in so nothing has to be changed on that end. Neither with Predator as Predator would probably spawn solo with both of them on opposite ends. You’d basically have Stargazer spawn first as “defenders” with Voodoo being the “attackers”, Predators are the wild cards.

If one team dies you’d only really need a new ending for a stargazer win in a successful defense since they wouldn’t exfil.

For this mode self destruct is deactivated until the last Predator drops.

Needs to be simple so that Illfonic can throw it together quickly

Not that your idea is bad, I actually like it and think we should push it

teamwork is OP in this game, if preds were able to cooperate, they’d be stronger than they are individually so you’d probably need it to be a 2v9 or a 2v10 for it to actually be balanced, but if it were just 2v8 i’d be fine with it as well.

also, if the game mode were to be made, it’d need to be in the same queue as hunt matches in order to prevent the fairly small playerbase from being broken up into sizes too small to actually really play.

Its a promise that can’t be made. I’d break it on the day the mode released.

Besides that’s also ignoring the fact that FT has even more FT members to coordinate with

The playerbase is used to long que times plus the point of this is to be a throwaway mode (at least to the devs)

What if we go harder?

2 teams
2 Predators (stats get roided up in this mode)
8 players of either species

Fireteam and Predators work identically (nobody is reviving a Predator) and probably would function nearly the same stats as clash.

That way you don’t have to sit for a queue for species since only two players actually have to be Predator and people would b line for Predator anyways. It’d be a bit clunky in melee but for the mode the masks and plasmacaster could be disabled depriving thermal and plasma spam for the 8 player team forcing them to rely on loadouts.

They could then tie this to a Predator release like the 4 armed Predator, an Enforcer or the Assassin as you’d have a game mode that finally allows for something that wild.
