AI are by far the worst part of the game. They just seem unfinished.
-their unpredictable paths take away any immersion.
- their spawns are horrible. Wether they spawn right behind or next to you, or continue to spawn on you as you run away
- they chase way too far. How do you shake the AI??
- the second you see them around a corner they’re already lazering you with pinpoint accuracy
- they don’t respond to noise makers???
My solution? Even though nobody asked and all I did was complain?
I think the game would improve if:
- there were more AI at start, walking patrol paths with less immediate awareness. This increases the challenge for the FT as they can’t just mow down 3 guys and blow the alarms and that’s it. But also there is a possibility to go quiet as they don’t immediately see you.
- follow distance would use that line of sight mechanic. Maybe they chase you for 5 more seconds after you’re out of LOS. Not find you deep behind a rock when they spawn in.
- objectives should have a challenging quick time event. Instead of always “oh shoot they heard us, they’re coming.”, Give a really tough challenge similar to the bomb defuse. Fail that? Reinforcements.
You either die a casual gamer, or live long enough to suggest changes on a video game forum
