Ok fine its fun for a couple days then its complete garbage. That stuff you mentioned is filler its not content in the way that would matter like say for example MORE CAMPAIGNS
Yea because they had to thier game was more broken on release than PHG. When tje game came out you could barely find a match with out AIs so uea they had to because thier game is carried on that aspect of being multiplayer.
In PHG the thing most ppl complained about was balancing so Illfonic had to tinker with that inevitably passing off some off the player base cause it was easier for predators to slaughter Ft so when they re balanced then the predator players got mad because now they had to actually be strategic.
Either way in my opinion PHG is way better and AFE sucks big wiener lol
So the fact that phg was practically the beta at release, cosplay preds , only one added mode to date and stability still fucked until today? You spread the issues a tad too thin there mate 😄
For you maybe where you at the UK? Well im in the states and although I’ve had some issues here and there they weren’t near as much as I had for AFE and with out comparing the 2 I really hardly had any major issues that would make me stop playing at all.
If your trying to make an argument for PHG vs AFE theres really none. PHG is a PvP with customizable predators regardless if you didn’t get the predator you wanted its still one of the more expanded (not that broad) predator customizable games out vs AFE an even more repetitive game where your jus fighting swarms of AI with a cap level of what 7 or 8 for each class, limited campaigns, 2 game modes that are basically the same with one only having 3 points of interest, NO characters from the movies, copy and paste aliens from ACM, no queen alien fights, and not to mention the lame alien designs. The alien designs could be just been frim AVP 2010 they were way better.
PHG again has its short comings, but at least it gave us some movie predators and 2 movie based players (I’d like more) but for the sake of the argument AFE hasn’t gave any.
Ethan series isnt a revamp, the mainline series is still a cover shooter. He’s a new character and his games aren’t 3rd person. The point you’re missing in your RE1-3 purism. HIS GAMES, specifically, are first person. It’s experimental.
As for the rest, I could post Fortnite and Assassin’s creeds reviews and you’d balk all day, about the high scores and the fact that it’s selling so let’s discuss the gameplay yeah?
You should try actually playing Outlast. It’s rated the way it is because it’s babies first horror game, intended for streamers before people realize you can literally sprint past everything as enemies pursue you in a light jog, for starters.
You run to a dead end and hide under a bed, in between all this - you’re collecting batteries and keys. There are no offensive mechanics so that is the gameplay, up and down. You can debate this all you want but its why something like 80% of the people that bought outlast never finished it. You can only helplessly sprint around a table with a flashlight so many times before it gets old. You can’t ripoff Outlast because the entire thing is a unoriginal asylum cliche, enlighten me.
I rank it up there with SOMA as some of the most overrated garbage of all time. Funny for all your talk of shareholders, Outlast was an investment shitshow no one wanted to buy into because its a horror game.
Outlast was released in a time where FPS horror games weren’t even dropping anymore. Just like fortnite was released early on in the battle royale craze. Devs made it after the success of Amnesia and it inspired all their “”“gameplay”"" elements but with an added nightvision battery easter egg hunt.
If you want to talk sales instead of IGN reviews you should start looking into the actual completion rate for ANY horror game because it’ll be around 30% or less.
Even Dead Space became action co-op, scary isn’t considered optimal for sales. Most people would rather watch a streamer play through it, if that. Should be common sense. They’re the opposite of cashgrabs.
That’s what you don’t get. The people don’t praise trough reviews the Outlast for sales. They praise it for being daring and lately the fact that it also pioneered and innovated the horror genre overall.
Isn’t it ironic how Outlast and Amnesia did what other titles like Resident evil and companies like Capcom struggle in terms of creative content?
They liteallly pissed over the mainstream wanna-be horror titles of the time.
I already played and finished Outlast 1 and whistleblower. What you do here is completely ignore the lore, the horror elements and techniques like camera design and how is made to immerse you. The fact that not too many people actually finish it is because is challenging and instead of running around like a brainless chicken how you claim it…for you to finish the game you have different puzzles and getting from one to another in term of areas. The heck, even the characters you meet along are more creative than many horrors out there in terms of villains.
And yeah, you don’t have offensive mechanics but that doesn’t mean you don’t have a fascinating game and story, and you do manage somehow to confront the villains that stalk you and finish them off, if not all some of them. And in spectacular ways.
If you really played outlast you wouldn’t say that because that is bullshit. What looks as a cliche at the beginning, turns out down the path as you play, for it not to be.
That’s what you don’t seem to get. Critics don’t care about sale, they care about quality here, concept, immersion, story and plenty of other heavy thing than just economic gain.
And given that Outlast was an indie so was Amnesia, and they remain in the minds of people over time and influence others, you can sure as piss on your profits.
They are opposite to cash grabs because they are also challenging, and you don’t have every 12 year old playing them.
Dude you are set on sales. Not the sales make a good game…good. If you like to speak so much about profit and it sparks your interest, the hell go work in a bank. Or on Wall Street. Or in a casino. Or join Fortnite fan club, or FIFA. In fact that is the problem with the games today. Too many like you want the bucks instead of creating memorable content or titles that become classics.
And that is what your “experimental” resident evil 7 and 8 did. They aimed for profit, milking the franchise just like ubisoft is doing. But I have no clue what is keeping you to admit this whole trash.
We are talking about games and what makes them good.
What do you think it really makes Aliens Elite Fireteam good? Like, good in the way that you wanna play it for example. What draws you to it for example?
PS: everybody can pitch in about what they like from the game. But I asked you since you popped up on the topic here.
Ok. Uhh personaly I don’t like it I think horde shooters are repetitive and can’t survive for long if the devs neglect the community I belive they need mod support that’s why l4d and l4d2 are still alive and people still make content about those games to this day even though they came out in like 2008
You know, is ironic how they just didn’t place one player to be in control of the alien/xeno swarm. At least they could pitch in with a mode on that idea.
Next thing you know you have the Marines fighting an Alien queen that could actually be a player. ♥
It woud have worked marvelously as a asimetrical shooter-3rd person slasher.
In Killing floor 2, you have a mode where you as a player can choose to be a clone…demon…thing… And you control the hoard of them while you play, Kill players, etc.
You are right, but left 4 dead was good. I mean you have people waiting literally for an official title to be released again. And is fun, all with the fact that it doesn’t take itself too serious. But…
On the other hand, with Alien EF, they could easily pull it off if they enrich the experience when it comes to maps, bosses, locations…in the state that is now.
For example, it would be wild if you bump into an Engineer that clashes in the fight on some planet that has the space station that you find in the depths of space tracking its signals. As the team of Marines wanna look or pursue for the source or origin of the Aliens. Next thing you know, you have to watch your back from the Engineer and Aliens as they fight eachother along with you and your Elite, but this would need a very good design and implementation to work properly.
