They really have to distance themselves as far as possible from A:CM. Non-playable xenos is lame I agree. Imagine PH:G with only playable FT and AI stargazer/preds lol when you could actually be making a unique game instead of a horde shooter. 3 player co-op pve is playing it safe as possible which doesnt really make anyone want to buy your game

Lol, yeah. Colonial marines wasnât totally terrible with all the different xenomorphs you could play, the controls, and everything else was terrible though
But, If they add playable xenos PHG may get left in the dust due to I know way more xeno fans myself included compared to Predator. Just have to wait and see

Donât think so even if Aliens were playable. Aliens and Preds have completely different playstyles. Most people actually have no tolerance for all the disorienting wallcrawling and leaping around in first person so they either just crawl around on the ground, which makes for a very weak Alien game, or prefer the straightforward gameplay of Preds or marines, just looking at all the AvP games. Not really the same niche at all.
Never bothered me personally, AVP 2000 was bad though for crawling, AVP2010 excuted it perfectly
Easy fix though is add first person and third person option which would make big difference
The game releases in a few months and itâs currently in Alpha with no current plans to support itself.
The game is gonna end up like Star Wars:Squadrons. People will stick around but people will just go back to the more developed title, Battlefront - Hunting Grounds.

ACM proved how terrible it is trying to melee, wallcrawl, and transition into vents with a third person camera & tail infront of the screen imo. Or the camera has to be angled really high which makes indoor areas really silly, and the bigger your alien is the more unplayable it becomes.
True, hence the 3rd person option would help with that and anyone else can just use 1st person if they choose to even if it looks silly maybe they could make it work much like AVP2010 animations for them crawling into vents when youâd play multiplayer
Sadly, the thing of them not doing DLCâs, unheard of company, non playable xenos as far as we can tell, and it being an exact copy of AVP2010 horde I donât have high hopes and looks like nothing more than a cash grab for the IP and a half attempted on at that.

If the red flag wasnât that itâs a game made by a studio thats been bought multiple times throughout development and has only existed for 5 years to work on two old MMOs, then the flags definitely that itâs an online-only 3 man co-op with no DLC to even try to support itself past launch.
This seems like one of those things they just throw out for cheap to maintain the license under a company.
All honesty AVP2010 was a great game I wish didnât die out. Suited all parties, was fun, and had cool design.

Coming from me that got sick af from those zero gravity VR rocket league clones the first week. They just need their sea legs instead of complaining about game design.
Agree Rebellion did good with AvP2010 albiet the weapon selection and preds having the best heavies in the game and all the 1 shot kills was obnoxious. And AvP2 is still superior.

The reason AVP didnât work out was due to middling reviews and it was kind of dated even for the time. It just wasnât the kind of game people had even been interested in playing either given Call of Duty was still big and Halo Reach came out the same year. It definitely had competition. The game also suffered for its combat and conga line trophy kill mechanic which was a big problem up to its death.
The title characters had also been kind of broken. Predator in particular could easily dominate a match. Players outside of personal preference didnât have much reason not to choose Alien or Predator since Marine was really squishy, not as fast, and Predator could one shot with much of its arsenal.
Not sure what they were thinking putting the trophy kills in multiplayer but lol at 360 sprinting around people with xeno and hitting the trophy kill button.
In general too many knockdowns and stuns taking control away from the player. lol marine parry knocking alien to the floor was absurd
Donât forget predâs leap knocked everything down while xenos had to be at absolute max distance while you were busy performing acrobatics at 300mph to dodge the instakill disc. Everyone else was playing a shooter but alien players were playing first person sonic the hedgehog. If you werent intepreting the game at 300mph then you were dead and even your melee sucked compared to the preds sprint heavy so you had to go full on gymnast to eventually make them panic or miss and hit them in the back. I remember a couple marine players that were really, really good with landing the grenade stuns and not missing a block too, if you were in their field of view youâre stunned and nuked.

Trying to hit and run on Pyramid is real PTSD madness. I get its supposed to be claustrophobic but damn you were just stuck in hallways with discs bouncing at you in the most one-sided game of Pong.
Once you got close though you could walltail them into a coma
