ALIENS:FT OR PREDATOR:HG??

Yeah I feel that most of them are just playing Casual mode. Of course if you’re decently skilled at shooters, you’re going to blast through Casual mode and it may tend to get boring. It’s mainly just there to learn the ropes, admire the environment, and chill. I bumped it up to Intense and it’s exactly as the name states - intense. I can’t wait to get the combat rating even higher and try the Extreme/Insane difficulties. Plus with the wide variety of Challenge Cards, every mission can be different, every playthough. I really hope that Cold Iron ignores any call for Nerfs/Buffs in this game lol. There’s absolutely NO reason for it.

I imagine in the hardest mode you won’t get any heals and limited ammo. Is honestly gonna take a while to get at that level

Literally both.

Anyone else unable to progress past the second campaign?

Pikmin 3 is the superior game to both of these. Suck it nerds.

PHG full of bugs is better then AFT.
Not comparing games it self, but the fun/entertainment it provides and the durability.

After a few days of gameplay James Cameron is enjoying Aliens FT. It’s actually quite challenging at times and the higher difficulty levels are nigh on impossible. Don’t find it boring in the slightest. It will feel really repetitive after a while but it’s got way more content than pred. PHGs major advantage over Aliens is that the pred is player controlled. That’s what kept it going for so long even with 4 maps because each round because each round was slightly different.

Each has something going for it, hunting grounds is mainly because it has predator attached to it

Yep. PHG is still enjoyable despite it’s ridiculous faults. Would love to see an alternate universe version where a bigger studio made it.

Yeah , no doubt eventually someone credible will get the IP ? The way things are going it will probably be a true fan that builds it with unreal engine themselves. Not some company that wants a feather in their cap and can display the name on their projects list . Actually put some love and soul into it.

Aliens FTE actually has started strong with love for the franchise and hopefully they really build on it . As much faults as it has? It feels more aliens after twenty minutes than hunting grounds feels predator after over a year .

They had this IP by the balls and instead decided it wasn’t too much of a passion project and built a completely different game along side it . It shows , their other game was being worked on since 2019 and probably had more time and resources allocated there , instead of hunting grounds . It explains a lot.

I dont buy the IP holders halting this game for one second . You really think they said dont fix bugs? It was incompetence that killed this game on arrival and lack of respect .

The connections have been ass.

My only other complain is how many times I have to press X to jump in a game, vise verse for leaving a match… whyyyyy lol
But over all enjoying AftE

If Cold Iron studios worked with illfonic for a couple updates, I think they could straighten this game out.

Cold Iron thought of everything.

  • No hidden stats
  • each class is very unique
  • the AI movement and reactions are decent
  • if AI gets stuck, it will respawn
  • the perk system is very engaging and customizable
  • Weapons are “mostly” balanced to your preference
  • multiple levels of control over aiming sensitivity, such as the intensity of aim acceleration

So you are saying they put more time and thought into their game? I agree.

Before anyone chimes in with “they are a small studio” , not small enough that they couldn’t build two games at once

Cold Iron has 40+ developers.

Illfonic claims a company size of 11-50 employees, so very similar in that regard.

The decision making structure and the number of veteran developers could also have a strong impact on how well a studio can produce quality games.

They done two at the same time , so they cant be too small , either that , or they don’t care about quality

Are those the only possible options?

No

I think at some point a company decides that it’s going to grow and take up on multiple projects and that they’ll be able to do it successfully. Yes, PHG is a mess, but i think doubling down on it as the only source of revenue for the company is not a smart financial decision. Perhaps they’ve taken it as far as the can and are keeping it a float at thr level. While that sucks for the gamers, maybe it’s a good financial decision. Like almost noone here believes the game will rebound, but they’re still upset that the devs are not throwing munny at it.

Brilliant response; i almost had no follow up 😂

April 24th 2020 was their limit in as far as they could take it 👍🏻
