Anyone think they are doing themselves an injustice by not even planning a sequel?
EA hasn’t had a clear direction since ME4 and really Anthem was really the diamond in the rough.Where is all their funding going to?
To me Anthem was a real spiritual successor to modern AAA titles along the lines of Horizon Zero Dawn, The Division, even Death Stranding. The story elements go along way.
I don’t know what EAs ambitions are if they can just so easily cancel one of their titles that has the most potential. Not going to lie, but the lore built for this title constitute lots of ideas. Maybe when they have more money then one day they can revive it.
Or maybe , just maybe, its the hardware and software merging at this point as being aligned to singularity development. Meaning, everyone who couldn’t afford a PC now can and EA is waiting out
this epoc of where upgrading meets waiting out for better software upgrades.
FSR/DSSR/PSSR is making many devs wait it out, no?
At this point I can say that without needing to upgrade my Videocard in the next 5 years, I could possibly keep it and just wait for software improvements to reach 4k/ 60+fps!
Gaming is an art form, man. If you can’t wait for bugs to work itself out over the course of a month or two, you’re not a real human. You’re just a poser. Taking cash and talking trash!

Funding aside, something tells me HALTS in the industry just means there really wasn’t money there in the first place and the whole industry is based on debt.
When you think about it, the boom happens and then it halts for newer ambitions.
It just seems to me, investors are scratching their heads not really understanding what even transpired in the entertainment industry since the 90s.
