I’m overall very happy with the update, sure I’ve encountered a few bugs but nothing game breaking, and the DX12 setting seems to fix the inconsistent CPU usage, that is HUGE news for PC players.
But I see a common mistake found in almost every modern game, all of the TAA options are too blurry. So I tested what if I modify it in the engine.ini with the same settings I use in Assetto Corsa Competizione:
[SystemSettings]
r.TemporalAA.Algorithm=0
r.TemporalAACurrentFrameWeight=0.7
r.TemporalAASamples=2
It’s much better, enough to stop the foliage shimmering without making everything too blurry. Tested in 1080p and 4K. So I think both PC and console players would be happy if they had an ingame TAA option like this.
By the way this is one of the last games that look great without any AA, and especially crisp and beautiful in higher resolutions. I don’t know about the console version settings, but if they don’t have the option to turn off anti-aliasing completely like on PC, they should.
