Well, I learned about it. The idea of becoming a psychologist always struck me as an easy path to power when I was an edgy adolescent, and when I actually started learning about it it was really interesting. Eventually around the age of 17 or 18, when I took a short course on criminology to assist with the clinical psych route I wanted to take, I learned about the ASPD spectrum (ranges from sociopaths to psychopaths - sociopaths tend to have more outbursts whereas psychos are skilled manipulators, both have muted feelings and no empathy) and I thought ‘Huh. That fits me to a T’.
