Dont bother. If you wanna counter knifers use net gun. If anything else literally use anything else. Its a waste of time and the FT will melt your ass before you get the first 6 shots out. And even when you do, it does such piss poor damage you might as well have just spammed your wristblades.

id honestly not recommend using it. It does very little damage and you are better off using the slot for a different weapon such as the bow or netgun.
If you insist on using it then it can be a effectivish sniper as there is no lazer and it sometimes it can be hard to tell where the shot originated from but again it does terrible damage so i would still not recommend the weapon.

This is how you know when a weapon is borderline useless when the only tactic everybody recommends is don’t use it, hopefully they make this weapon viable in the next patch.

Yeah, don’t use it, it may be more powerful if you could throw it at the FTs.

Don’t use it without down range. Great for hit and run tactics. Must be used in close proximity. You can soften them up with shoulder caster then finish them off with hand held or melee.

I use it as a sniper, without a trail leave reviver easier to down.

Use it if you like to play hard mode.
I pretend to turn it sideways and shout BLAT BLAT (in my mind) when firing!
That or make Marvin the Martian noises when firing. Sometimes I make those out loud but thankfully I use a push to talk mic.
In seriousness though, I find it useful for its high rate if fire and throwing the FT off a little bit. At least until they realize what you are doing they will often be confused and look for the red laser scope from the regular plasma.
Overall it seems a little but harder for the FT to locate you when using it than the shoulder caster. That is probably because it sometimes bursts and the shot goes wild. And also probably because not many Predators use it.
I do not rely on it so much for damage as for just getting the FT to move/area denial. It still makes a lot of nose, has a small AoE, and will often annoy even the stubbornest FT enough to get them to move.
I do not generally use it in melee range, as the few times I did it still took about 6 hits to down a FT. I could have done the same with net + claws and also not be standing still/moving slowly the entire time.
It is also good for blowing up barrels and the like because there is no delay, the barrels explode instantly instead of burning first.
It can be used to destroy FT assets (med kits, ammo, etc) like the shoulder cannon. Takes 2 shots.
It can be reloaded whole moving, so you can usually reload while repositioning.
Like the bow, it can be fired from stealth and does not use your regular energy reserves.
It can headshot, but its also not known for its accuracy.
Overall I do like it, and I have had some entertaining shoot outs with various FTs. It is kind of a mix of the bow and shoulder cannon, with low damage. I switched to it shortly after 1.06 and everyone started using bow due to its buffs. I am hoping that plasma pistol gets some buffs soon also.

Sometimes yes, it does not use your regular energy so can be fired even if you are overloaded.
However after slam I am either trying to get out of there as soon as possible, or I have switched to net to then finish someone off with claws, without them being able to retaliate.

extremely low dmg lol… try hard mode with this 99C gun will get u killed when u fight a good FT haha
