Hi all,
I’m about a week away from getting on a plane to Europe.
Long and short of it is that I’m looking to reconcile with my ex, we will be staying at a hotel for a week and celebrating NYE together. Over the past few days, I’ve developed a nagging feeling that I’m going to be stopped at Customs, despite the fact that I’ll have all of my paperwork in order and family reunification is considered “essential travel” for countries part of the Schengen Agreement.
I’ll have my COVID test, return flight, and room reservation information, and her information at the ready. Has anyone had any issues with this as a US citizen?
Not looking for binding legal advice, just some reassurance, or things you can think of. I’ve checked with the immigration officials of her home nation and it looks like I’m in the clear, but still, these admissions are based solely at the discretion of the border/customs official. This is probably anxiety/paranoia because of how badly I want this to work out.
Thanks all,
Khi
