Are Predator's Claims/Acheivements memorable enough?

So, each time i’ve played (been playing Predator main after my FT Dailys) and something strikes me as a problem.

I feel like it still is some kind of priviledge playing as predator and my acheievements -that is-- claiming 4 or 5 or 3 FT members and the bold text of “Fire Team Eliminated” just isn’t enough.
Its a lingering feeling that doesnt provoke an achievement unless i’m doing the Epic/PS achievement trophies (in which I still feel like we can’t monitor our progress with even though thats really important).

I constantly feels like we are in need of a content rich/ story driven FT/ Predator narrative that we don’t have yet.

Be the focus is on the present…and presently, currently, there is a “forget about me” feeling as predator.

Does anyone else feel this way too?

and I’m not going to word this the way others have like…
*“This game should be called FireTeam:Hunter Grounds” *
or " Why are the developers siding with the FT?" …

Of course these words belong to half shaven marketing departments (illfonic is to blame).

With all due respect to the general public, i don’t think they have the capacity to think this way considering the amount of detail this game has the professional presentation it has, I simply don’t think people generally would word it this way without looking like a completely numb skull 5 year old kid.

But that aside, I think we are either missing a little bit of emote polish or that the devs are really working hard behind the scenes to bring us something that will take 2-3 years to develop.

Something tells me if that happens (2-3 year plan of getting single/multiplayer launch), that we will be getting a t-shirt in the mail saying “don’t forget we got something cooking in the oven” on the front of it, which IMHO, would make me feel a whole lot better.

I also feel as though i’m decoding an alien language each time a play. Like i don’t quite understand the strategy…and possibly never will. Which adds a layer of mystery to it.

I agree

The game is fun

But there is a lack of meaningful and lasting progression which is what keeps gamers coming back for more

I hope they have a complete overhaul secretly in the works

I dont think the game needs a reworked prestige mode…I don’t think we are there yet. And to do that much more would be overstepping / side-stepping on the bigger picture.

I know, lots of people are going to tell me, “well thats just not what this game is - or ever will be-.” I think that attitude is a bit presumptuous considering the assym is not a really fleshed out game concept to begin with leaving much to be speculated and much to be desired.

@BadBlood : Meaningfulness and a lasting progression is exactly what this game needs.
We are already coming back…back for more? I think we kind of get that anymore is like a treat IMHO.
We’re not necessarily going to do more with Mr. Black or Scar (than what we already have) asides from be in awe of their visual horror. But the mechanics I feel are now established.

Concreted to be exact.

What we NEED now are game changing environmental factors. Something that changes our routine. Our pathways to the destination. The Amount of stealth that we either choose to use or not use. but…ill leave that for another thread.

Stealth is something that, IMHO, needs to be looked at in DEPTH. How Stealth changes our pathway to completing our objectives. and if Stealth provides any meaningful/rewards to our game plan. This might be a large scope that devs will need to look into as that changes the pace of the game.
Pace is important as , in the first film, the FINAL ACT was a pace changer.

Yeah, totally feel that. We work out asses off playing as Predator, and we get the same cinematic over and over. With level cap still sitting at 150, there is no feeling of achievement anymore. Maybe different cinematics depending on number of Fireteam killed? Weapons used most? A more detailed summary of the match for Predator players showing how much damage you did to each FT? Anything other than this empty mute feeling where I’m already mentally weighing up the next match and if I can be arsed to wait again.

Yeah. I just like to mess around in quick play until I can challenge premades in private matches. I always hoped for some kind of stat based trophy wall.

Once I hit platinum, it really took away from any external feeling of achievement.

That kind of has its appeal…but realistically you’re going to need a wall that fits a hundred (as per achievements states).
I think content rather than heads will need satiate the public. I mean how many skulls do you need to make you feel driven? How about an unlocked wall of unique trophies…dinosaurs…aliens…secret aliens…other aliens…with some kind of cryptic story?

then after those trophies are unlocked…a secret biomask unlocks?

Maybe this game needs more unlockables from “unlocked-ables”.

I’ll design a specific example of what I would prefer.

When a Predator dies…what is his or her clan emblem?
If there is one, i would like to see it like your final end screen…clan report or something.

I been asking for t-shirts since I joined the forums. I don’t understand how Illfonic is not capitalizing on this franchise. I will give them props for releasing a novel Stalking Shadows. But yeah, let me buy a tshirt and hoodie with this game’s branding on it. I want a Predator flask and glass weed pipe also. In addition, I will also buy a Predator fleshlight as well (oh wait this already exists).

a t-shirt campaign is not an empire for dollarz. If you’ve ever even looked into the money you make from it…Its more work for little pay kind of deal. If it were microsoft, they can throw money so negligently and not care. but any kind of fan-made merch is a more like a way to keep print shops alive. Its not like a company like illfonics would do something like that. If they do it would be limited print like 200 or something, for employees and friends of employee gifts or something. yeah …no.
There really is no capilitalization on t-shirts…just lots of work and management.

Limited print! Great idea. We should have numbered lithographs and posters available too. Give us some merch @Courier @OldKingHamlet

Hey even that @P-willie2000 guy makes his own tshirts with PHG on it. I wouldnt mind having my wallpapers as t-shirts that would be cool. But you know …i dont know the trouble of asking permission and being allowed to do it. But fans are fully capable. Just not many of us have the time.

You know what they should do is every claim, on the main menu there should be a predator trophy room and show all your claims or whatever. That would be cool.

Or after you claim X amount of skulls you get a new type of skull to hang on the wall
Or also after X amount of skulls you get a field locker that has 0% chance of being blue

Nothing feels like an achievement because the pacing is shit, increasing the player level that no one sees is not going to fix that. Kills/claims don’t feel like they matter because they don’t matter. Dying as FT doesn’t matter if you play like you have two lives a match. There’s no hunt, you leap across the map at the start & have 15 min to fully wipe the FT (ideally as fast as possible because reinforcements exist and they get everything back, as FT is rewarded for dying efficently lol.) And missions take 6 minutes to do unless the FT is being peppered by arrows because the game’s got some crippling flaws that no trophy room cosmetic bs is going to fix. Great pacing.

The AI is unfun garbage that spawns out of thin air, there isn’t even a point to pred killing AI despite how easy that would be to implement. But i’m sure Illfonic’s looking for action-packed matches not anything that requires any level of brain power or stealth beyond holding a button to collect 5 water samples.

Every single Predator class is the same hit and run strategies over and over because they all play the same. Perks, stats, etc are uninventive and trivial, there are no “playstyles.” Because of this you never feel like you “outplay” anyone, both sides are just “how much damage per second do I need to kill this person.” A good predator is one that deals a lot of damage very fast and the match is over because people are too slow to react, a good FT is one that perfectly tracks the pred after 100 hrs holding the fire button and both of these are about as fun to play against as it sounds.

Everyone talking about “player progression” and fortnite COD prestiges etc etc nonsense probably also put a few hundred hours into every AvP yet those games had no player progression. Just old fashioned lobby leaderboards & competition. The difference is those games actually had a learning curve whereas PH:G’s learning curve is a joke so ofc it feels unrewarding after you’ve maxed out and unlocked your 6 shitty items and gold paint.
