Are South America's servers down or what?

So over the last weeks ALL public matches I have played I only get 120 ping minimum. Usually that would happen sometimes when I get connected to the servers outside my area (Brazil) to play for example with players from North America but I now have seen lobbies with only people from South America ( judging by their usernames and languages I hear on game chat) where all players have 100+ ping.

Usually when all players are from the same region they should have like less than 30-50 ping, that’s how things have worked for me since the game was released, when I would play with people from my region we all have low ping, but lately I keep seeing full lobbies of people from south america always with all players with 100+ ping. Its mainly an issue when I’m the Predator, cus the projectile weapons don’t work properly with that ping.

Yeah. That happened in Europe also. Before patch 2.xx i had pings variating 0-18 ms. After that patch i never had lower than 24 ms…

Its more likely that they are not down but their resources are allocated differently based on usage.

could mean another game on epics catalogue is using it because its suddenly more popular. could be. not saying if thats how they manage their cloud resources.but there are lots of settings they could do either per game, if it doesn’t have a ton of players in that region they push those people in that region to another server to free up their resources for other games.
I worked in cloud resources metadata for about a year. I studied the hosting services not what developers do on them. So what I know about what Epic does in the back ground is just what people know they could do, not what they actually do.
