Are the Yaujta evil? Vote again I fixed the poll.

Maybe… but not without a good hazing or several lashes I expect. I’d bet Greyback runs a tight ship. Like Davy Jones tight.

Agreed. It’s kinda interesting that even though they value their tech, they also have a bit of ‘you keep what you kill’, as seen in AVP and pred2. Kinda confusing

They aren’t evil but everyone and their mom plays FT…

That is the interesting thing, long as they follow the rules of their own kind’s code of conduct, which would be based around their own sense of morality or whatever they believe in, it seems like they either haven’t considered this or don’t care at all? Maybe this will be addressed in the upcoming film, who knows? We don’t see much into Predator culture, rather the films focus on the conflict itself so there isn’t much to go with currently.

Yeah, i wish we knew more. Though the code being so strict and so central, if you start adding in things, there will be contradictions and dilemmas and like-such-as, so maybe it’s not worth going there.

I wonder if any ideas that undermine the code are shut down as, here it comes, heresy. May be the code could have amendments (all Yautja have unalienable rights to life, liberty and pursuit of prey)

I like this mystery but we already know from now canon, they been collecting our dna from trophies and are going to take over our world with the help of global warming lol 😂

I reject that even more than I reject the Schumacher Batman travesty.

They are cousins of the Alien universe engineers.

What for real? Source that! Lol

lol

Im sure it’s somethere in the 2018 or AVP directors cut version. (I still don’t know where the geneticist thing comes from 😁)

Googled. 2018 it is

forums were boring so I wasnt checking this week.

To answer OP, they’re killing sentient species for fun.
ergo, they are assholes.

Assholes kinda fits

killing us for DNA would be less of a dick move

movies have given zero reason besides they think our heads look nice on a shelf. The books tried to make it a cultural necessity while trying to juggle their intelligence & lack of empathy. doesnt work.

They don’t even eat us, just poach the head and bail.

the only alternative is crab theory.

they developed sentience somehow without developing empathy & their brains work like hermit crabs and they just collect shiny skulls.

How much DNA do they need. You get a few samples, replicate them and run your tests. If anything, put someone in cryo. Just doesn’t fit well with the hunter culture. It is possible, but it’s too out there to have nothing in between.

That could be interesting. Even animals can be shown to have behavior resembling empathy. But it would be interesting to see how a society of such species evolved. Perhaps they would be similar to an AI

Scavenged tech they use to scavenge skulls across the galaxy because its the peak of their hermit crab shell society.

Still even something like yautja code is kinda advanced. Just differentiating between a worthy prey and innocent is a big thing. Some sort of morality is there. I think morality requires empathy

It’s just “dont pvp people outside the pvp zone” and “don’t kill pregnant women”

cavemen figured this out
